Hey ECF, I'm new on this forum but with the wealth of information I have gathered from it over the last month or two, I've decided it's about time to become a member and ask a question!

But first a bit about me:
I started on e-cig's as a substitute for real smoking about 4 or 5 months ago, unfortunately my journey began by using a disposable gas-station bought one and I ran right back to analogs for another month, I then decided I'd give e-cig's a shot again. I did a minor amount of research this time, and happened upon the company smoke 51, I liked the idea of cartomizers so went with a 2 piece. Everything was great for a while, except I eventually learned a few things (that I could have learned the easy way just by browsing this forum)
1. The smaller cigarette length battery is almost worthless; I bought a second longer length and it does just fine for me. I am now switching off between the two. (the smaller one is now located in a junk drawer)
2. A carto does NOT hold the equivalence of a pack of cigarettes, at least not relatively speaking for me so continuing to buy through this company was not saving me money and I had no way to cut costs. because...
3. The battery model they sell is not compatable with any other cartos (that may not be entirely accurate, but none that I could find)
5. I still have the urge to smoke when drinking and have no way to mix my own or up the throat hit through this company.

I feel it is now time to upgrade! so lets cut to the question(s):

Through some research I've decided I'd like to go with the eGo/510, I like disposable cartos, I've looked into atomizers and I don't want them and don't want to deal with them. I really like automatic over manual switch. I'd like 2 eGo batteries. I need 2 chargers: 1 at home wall plug in, and 1 at work USB plug in.

I'd like a starter kit with most if not all of what I'm asking for :), If you can direct me to a good site where I can find it that would be incredibly helpful!

I'd like to start with pre-mixed retail carto's and when I become more comfortable with it start mixing my own. I have done little to no research on mixing my own and I'm not quite ready to dive into it yet.

So for now if you could direct me to a site where I can find pre-made cartos of good quality that would be awesome as well, I really like the Menthol Blue Label I've been using by smoke 51, if anyone knows what that tastes like (probably a long shot).

Thank you so much for any help you can give me!

Hey welcome to ECF! You'll be supplied with detail information in no time.

I'd like to add my bits of advice. Please consider going with manual. Automatic batteries break easily. You may want to consider using an atomizer( will come with a starter kit anyways) to at least make sure you like a juice before you put it into your cartomizers. Liberty Flights has the best starter kit prices I know of after you click the 20% off coupon in the upper left corner. An eGo kit will come in at about 43.00 after shipping costs.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

For cartomizers I recommend VaporGod . They are 6.99 some of the cheapest you'll find, Boge, and come with a free bottle of juice. Boge 510 2.0 LR Cartomizer 5 Pack With FREE 5ml Bottle Of Eliquid

They are not pre-filled but will come with a free juice, and you can also pick up another juice or two from their site cheaply. Great prices there. Cartos are very easy to fill!! Just drop in juice after taking off white cap( for Boge's or cartos that look like Boge's) untill the filling looks moist but not too wet.

If you want to use pre-filled cartridges, you will have to use an atomizer.

Also if I'm not mistaken sweet-vapes.com is located in Minnesota or close to it. Excellent vendor I can't say enough wonderful things about. Has many DIY supplies when you are ready for that step and juice you don't want to miss out on.

Hope that helps :)

No problem Sue. Right now many are sleeping, but not to worry. You'll get even more info in no time I'm sure.

Here is a short post , but may help to inform you more about manuals.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/235328-manual-battery-confusion.html

Many people around here swear by manuals. I love mine personally. They're more protected from juice leaks. Someone else may also elaborate on that. I'm just a bit tired myself and soon to be off to bed.

Reading other new-comer's post's in the New Member's Forum section can also help to answer other questions you may have as well.

You can also re-use cartomizers if you have juice. Blow out the cartomizer a bit to get old juice old, and refill. You do not only have to use them once and throw away. I use mine.. well as long as I can! hehe Just in case you where wondering about that.

Heyas SueCityVocals,

Like Frosting said, manual batteries really aren't a big deal. I wanted autos when I first started, and tried them. My second pv had manual batts and I got used to them in no time flat.

Also, your choices aren't limited to prefilled cartos mixing it yourself (DIY). You can buy premixed juice and fill your own cartos or carts. Or drip with the premixed juice. Filling cartos also doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Pop the top off, drip some in, put the top back on. Top off once or twice a day, and that's it. Doesn't make a big mess either.

Hi,

First thing I would point out is:

Disposable carts........ Do yourself a favor and avoid them like the plague! you will not only waste money by buying pre-fillled ones but you will also be limited to what you can and cant use.

I know this is a UK company, but this is the kind of thing you are looking for, AND it comes with a PCC (Personal Charging Case) so it looks like a real cigarette!

Buy Liberro™ Realis Electronic Cigarette Realistic All in One Starter Pack | Libero shop - £35.00

Now to refill these things is as easy as getting the protecting rubber bung, dripping 7 odd drops into it and then pushing the cartomizer down on it, plus you get 6 spare and can keep them all in the PCC case so all you need to do is every few days fill them up!!..

Also automatic batteries suck... they break so easily with having an extra mechanism inside for the automatic distribution.

Check out this forum, read before you go and buy and also check youtube for video reviews giving the full low down on your kit! TRUST ME I have spent about £250 so roughly ($350ish maybe more) on kits that were just plain rubbish!!

Good luck anyways!!

Get a provari, you WILL NOT regret it!

You cannot put a price tag on your lungs/body.
Get something you will enjoy, something that wont break, something you wont feel you went half ... at an attempt on.
The provari is so sturdy and sexy.
I have had mine two weeks now and I have NOT had to charge the battery YET (2500mah with extension cap), and I vape all day long!
The adjustable voltage gives more room to mess with diff cartos/atos/tanks

Did I mention how sexy and sturdy this thing is? It feels, looks, and operates like it is meant to last 50years. And you get an automatic 1year warranty. But I don't think I will need it.

My favorite flavor so far is Belgium Waffle from Bluemistvaping, Ive even ordered a 180ml bottle with no nicotine, ready to eliminate the nic already(so we can change my user name to 3 > 4000 ), Im so pleased with my experience, and I owe most of it to the provari!

I reported him earlier. UGH hate that. + 1 on ProVari being an excellent choice. Haven't tried Darwin yet but wasn't crazy about the idea of not being able to replace the batteries. Don't quite know why that irks me. Others have said that it's awesome. I also recommend Reo for bottomfeeding and Saber Touch. The Saber Touch now has a VV but I've not heard much about them - only limitation for that would be that you need to use the screw thingy to change voltages. Buzz Pro gets a lot of good "buzz" also.

My dream PV is now an SSGTS but it's a bit outside of my budget.

Best of luck on your search!!

After a month with an automatic, have to be recharged ALL the time PV, I opted for a Riva 510 and an eGo-T....both have been excellent. Of course I drooled over the Provari (who doesn't)...but after vaping on my eGo and Riva, and learning my vape habits, I realized a bottom feeder will be best for me. I'm clumsy and am tired of constantly having juice on my hands, face and in my eyes. I am glad I started with something a little less expensive until I knew which direction I wanted to go.
Welcome to ECF and congratulations on laying down the funkerettes!

Started out with the Magma from Volcano with carts. It lasted for a couple weeks before I was back to analogs. Just too much of a hassle for me, and the carts were weak. Recently I knew I wanted to quit for good, new baby coming any day now, and did some research. Bought my Joye eGot-T about 3 weeks ago and am proud to say I havent picked up or thought about an analog since. Love this thin. Ordered a tank mod from MadVapes yesterday so excited for that. Vaping is wonderful and addicting, in a good way!

Thanks a lot for everyones insight!

I guess needing two chargers really depends on how long an eGo battery will last, I'm at work 8 hours a day, so if i bring a fresh battery with me will it last that long with almost constant vaping?

You've all convinced me, if i'm going to purchase a new e-cig, i better be sure it wont break on me, Manual it is :).

You can get eGo kits with larger, longer lasting batteries. You can also get eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers, aka EMDCC, that hold 4 - 5 ml of liquid. A couple of those bad boys should last the heaviest of vapers all day. They're also low resistance, so they drain the batts faster. Find'em at Madvapes and Vaping Zone. If you decide to try the EMDCC, get a shorty 510 extension in case the center battery post in the carto gets pushed to far up. It's always a good idea to have two or three chargers in case one goes bad. Don't forget to get lots of e-liquid. I'd start with sampler sizes until you find the ones you like.

I would really recommend you go with a Riva or an E-Power instaead of the eGo. The eGo is 3.4V while the Riva/E-Powers are 3.7V. The 3.7V PVs work a lot better with LR cartomizers.
Personally I would go with the E-Power. It uses non-proprietary batteries. E-Power batteries cost $4 compared to eGo/Riva batts that are $14-20. Also everything is replaceable on the E-Power so it keeps costs down. It comes with 2 1050mah batteries which will give you plenty of power. Mine normally last about a day and a half before I need to change batteries.

Read this about the E-Power: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/standard-e-cigarette-reviews/233335-anyone-considering-buying-e-power-14650-read.html

This will give you some info on why you might like the E-Power more than an eGo/Riva.
Also it will tell you where to get it, Crystal Clear Vaping.
Youll get a FREE 5-pack of Ressurector Cartomizers, a FREE 30ml juice of your choice, amd FREE shipping.
Put in "ecf5off" and youll get 5% off your order.

Its a great deal and a nice PV to start out with. I think you would really like the Ressurector Cartomizers also. They are what I use daily and they are awesome. They hold 2ml of juice so they will last all day, which you said you wanted.
Plius the kit comes with 2 batteries, so you can bring the 2nd one with you and will never have to worry about your batteries dying.

Or what you might even like more is the new eGo-EPower. I just heard about it and havent used one yet but it sounds pretty sick. It just came out. Same features like the E-Power, but comes with 2 2800mah IMR batteries. That means youll be able to go 2-3 days before needing to switch batteries. It has an eGo-style end with 510 threading AND cone threading.
