Halo customer service? A little story and warning.

I'll try to make this short. I would post on the Halo board but I'm a new member and I have to post 5 times or something. I am disabled with mental illness. I avoid companies that don't have a good track record and have good English based customer service. The stress is not good for me. I'm not one to repeatedly call if something is not right. I call once and let it go even if it costs me money , and I don't have much money. It's just not worth it for me.

So I order Halo's Triton and a USB charger. I love the Triton, easy, lasts a long time. When I go to charge I find the charger is not working. After a little research I find Halo has sent me the wrong charger. I email Halo, after a few days someone gets back to me saying they will send a new charger. Awesome!

Days go by and no new charger. Eventually after two weeks I try to charge my Triton on a different charger. Do you know where this is going?

I'm downstairs with my dog using the kitchen, Halo is charging in my rented room upstairs. I hear a loud POW. I at first think it came from the front door, so I look around...nothing. I sit back down. Two minutes later the upstairs smoke alarm goes off. I'm like wth? I get up there and into the room I rent and the corner has flames reaching to the ceiling and smoke everywhere. I throw my blanket over the flaming cardboard boxes and smoldering clothes. (My favorite t-shirt ......mit!)

I am barely able to get the fire under control, smoke alarm is blaring, smoke is filling the house., I'm starting to feel my mind trying to pull away like it does. I mean, another minute and this fire would have been out of control. That is scary. I would have lost everything and been homeless. I'm lucky my landlord is so nice and understanding. The rug is ruined and some of my clothes and a few other things. Could have been worse. Much worse.

The Triton exploded on the wrong charger of course.

Now I understand it's my fault I tried to use a different charger. If I knew this would happen I wouldn't of course.

Whatever. I'm not trying to blame anyone, .... happens. But Halo, can you send me that ....ing charger now? And if you are real nice, a new Triton? Thanks Halo.

(I have since bought two Tritons and got another charger, which got to me fine. But I would still like Halo to do what they said they would do in the first place)

Did you ever send a follow-up email, or use the Customer Service forum on the website to let Halo know you didn't receive the Triton charger after they informed you they would and you didn't receive it? Send a follow-up.

And Welcome to ECF. Battery safety and using the correct charger is very important, as you discovered. Be safe, get your five posts and come over to the Halo forum. We'll get it straightened out.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Having the correct charger for your battery is important, as well as the location where you set the batteries while they are charging. I ended up charging batteries on top of the vanity in the bathroom, as it was the largest open area close to an electrical outlet on a hard (and hopefully) non-flammable surface, just in case.

I tried using the email on the Halo website to follow up but it does not work now. When I hit submit nothing happens...

In post #4, I put a link for you to send a PM to Cinder Ella, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=90420.

I recommend you find a reputable brick and mortar vaping store in your area. Sometimes you pay a little more, but this can be a huge advantage, especially from a customer service aspect.

All About Vapor is a B&M about 5 miles from me, and I don't think I would have successfully transitioned from smoking cigarettes to vaping if they wouldn't have been there. I must have gone into the store every 3-5 days with some type of problem, from satisfaction with the e-Go's to the million questions I had regarding cartos and tanks. Someone always took their time helping me without making me feel stupid.

An issue like you are having with the battery charger could have been taken care of in a matter of minutes in a brick and mortar store.

OP can't send PMs, either.

I'm going to close this for two reasons. First of all, Halo can't respond to threads created in New Members. There's a very good reason why we require new members to establish a posting history before being allowed to post elsewhere on ECF. It takes less than an hour to meet that requirement.

Second, and this one's on the fine edge. We do have a negative review forum (again, you have to meet the posting requirements to post there) and suppliers are authorized to respond there.

Once you meet the posting requirements for the other areas of ECF, I encourage the OP to post in the area that meets his needs.
