Recently got the Halo Triton. Awesome product! Great vapor, and powerful taste. Got a few questions though.

1) How long do the Coils usually last before needing replaced?

2) What is the ohm of the Coils that come with the starter kit? Need to order more, and don't which one to select. The ohm that comes with the kit works good for me.

3) The batteries seems a little shore for a 650mah battery. Anyone know the measurements for the 400, 650, and 900 batteries?

Thank you so much. This helps a lot. Will order some Coils now.

Is there a unique way to clean and take care of the coils to make them last a bit longer?

Also, when I connect the batteries to the outlet to charge...I noticed that the RED and BLUE LED lights are very dim. Both colors are barely visible. They're not bright at all. Are they designed that way?

Great video. It doesn't mention how often you should do this. I'm guessing Once a Week is sufficient?

Not having any problems. It does show RED when first plugged in. Later on... when it's fully charged, it changes to BLUE. Was just wondering if the LED light is supposed to be bright (like most LED lights are), or very dim.

I just received mine today (woo-hoo!), yes, the led is pretty dim. I'm going to fire up this baby right now. I ordered a couple of tanks with the two batteries, these thing are huge compared to the e-smarts. I ordered the 2.6-2.8 replacement coils. I hope that works well with these, or I'll just get the 2.2-2.4 ohm version the next time.

ed101z, how often you clean the tank would depend a lot on the juice. Once a week, maybe more often, if it starts to give less performance, clean it.

1) People are getting anywhere from a week to a month from each coil depending on their usage and how well they take care of them.

2) 2.2 -2.4 ohm

3) Lengths:
400mAh - 66.8 mm
650mAh - 74.6mm
900mAh - 89.75mm
1300mAh - 99.5mm
Twist - 106.1mm
PassThru - 108.3mm

I see the VV is up on the site now. Any idea when the passthru will be available???

Yes, they are not exactly bright. I have 2 Triton USB charges and they are exactly the same way. Doesn't have any effect on charging, they just are less bright than some, but the chargers work just fine.

As far as cleaning the tanks and coils, there are different ideas based on who you ask. I simply take out the coils, rinse the tank in warm tap water and let it dry. The coils I run well under warm water, gently squeezing out any residual ejuice. I air dry them and they are good to go. Many folks do a dry burn while the wicks are still damp, and it can loosen up residual build up on the coils themselves, but be cautious: It is easy to char the wicks when doing this, and if you do, the burnt taste will never go away. I don't dry burn more than a couple seconds on and off about 4 times. Personally, I only dry burn when the coil clearly is not performing as well as normal.

You can get up to a month or more from a coil, but performance will fall off a bit after the first couple of weeks. Keep in mind some ejuices are just harder on coils than others. Dark ejuices and high VG ejuices will tend to take a higher toll.

At the end of the day, coils are not very expensive, and a new coil makes your Triton tank perform like brand new. Sometimes I have a tendency to keep using a coil past the point where it really makes sense...after all, its all about quality vaping!

Thanks TLS01 and Pete. Appreciate the advice. Pete, you're right about coils not being very expensive. If I can get a single coil to perform good for at least two weeks, then I'll be a happy camper. Two weeks of life from a coil certainly beats the 2-3 refill life ratio of any Cartomizer.

About the cleaning process. I've seen videos of someone bringing water to a slight boiling on a stove, and then using a metal spoon to dip the coils/wicks into it 2-3 times. Instead of letting it dry slowly,... what about using a hair dryer to dry the coils/wicks? 'Dry burning' just doesn't sound good at all! LoL! Don't believe I'll do it unless I really have to.

I let them air dry unless I don't have anything else to vape with. If you take the top wick out of the coil (the one that's not threaded through the actual coil), you can get it pretty dry with a paper towel. I dry everything pretty good with paper towels, then let them sit for a while. I've used a tank/coil after letting it dry for about 20 minutes and filling it and letting it sit for about 10 minutes without any real issues. The first 2-3 drags may be weak, but that's about it. If you're using a heavy juice such as Tiki Juice, let everything dry out longer as it can taste a bit watered down. A thinner juice such as menthol ice hasn't given me any issues.

I tried dry burning once. Made no difference compared to what I normally do.

Just reporting my findings. It seems like everyone has something different that works for them. Instead of using a spoon like in the video, I bought a strainer from the dollar store. It's like a small bowl made out of screen with a long handle on it. When I boil stuff, I bring the water to a boil, put my stuff in that, then let it sit in the boiling water for 5 minutes. If you repeat that process to get out all the smell out of a tank or coil, make sure you wait a while between soaking. I melted some mini tank tips that way. It wasn't a total disaster, but they're not usable anymore. You live and learn.

I've seen people do this, but I see no reason at all to boil them...even in terms of trying a different flavor. I rinse both the tank and the coils under warm running tap water, dry 'em (and not even "bone-dry!), refill 'em and vape. No residual flavor worth talking about at all. Same with the minis. Rinsed one out this evening, already got it filled with a new juice. After a couple of weak initial hits, it is as good as new.

I have actually used a hair dryer on warm, not high heat, to both dry out the tank and the coil. It does work, and appears safe enough.

This question may be slightly off topic, but...

I have a Triton coming in the mail and while I purchased the necessary USB adapter, I did not purchase their wall charger as I have several USB phone wall chargers that I have used to charge my old cigalike models.

Using those won't be a problem, I hope?

Not at all. As long as it produces 5 volts at .500a (or 500ma) or more, you are fine. I use several different usb "wall-warts" with my ecig batteries and they all do just fine. It is the Triton usb charger that is critical, so since you ordered it, you'll be fine.

I wonder if we will have an option on coils that come with new tanks, now that the VV is out, and the 3.0-3.2 coils are recommended. I bought some of the suggested coils and new tanks with the VV anyway, so may just transplant the new coils into the new tanks.

I ordered the coils too. I just knew the new ones would be in on Monday if I ordered new tanks and coils on Friday. Right before I clicked the complete order button, I almost stopped myself. Then I was thinking to myself if I don't order now, the new stuff won't be in for a few more weeks.

I bought 5 tanks and 2 packs of 2.2-2.4 ohm coils (along with juice). I checked the forum on Monday figuring Cinder Ella would be here saying the new stuff is in. Sure enough, 8 minutes before I checked, she posted the coils and twist were available.

I needed a couple of tanks anyway, so no loss. The regular coils will work too, and I'll still use them with the standard Triton. Back-ups are always good to have. It's not like tanks and coils expire.

Yes, it is not as if the 2.2 - 2.4 ohm coils work poorly with the Triton twist, it just limits you a bit on how far up you crank the voltage.

Since I use my 650batts every bit asmuch as the twist, I will leave most of my tanks with the standard coils, but convert a couple of them to the higher rsistance coils.

Flexibility is a good thing :)
