So I was looking around for magnets that would work for the Hammer's switch and ran across these:
Ring magnet, D7.5 x d5 x 1mm, Nd rare earth, N42

They measured to be the right size, so I figured I'd give them a shot. Got them in yesterday and they work pretty darn well. With a pair of them, the throw is similar to a really light spring, but with 3 it firms up a little bit and isn't too bad at all. 3 will reduce the throw some, but not anymore than using a button top battery.

So for anyone looking to make their Hammer switch magnetic, this is a great place to start. I ordered 10 magnets and was hit with a $4 'small order' fee, but it still came out under $10, which all things considered, isn't that bad when you look at what some vendors are charging to upgrade to magnets.

Enjoy:toast:

You can use the button tops with the magnets. With a button top the throw is already reduced so using 2 magnets wouldn't allow the full throw of the switch anyway due to the battery. Using 3 magnets doesn't loose anymore throw since it's already reduced from the button top. That made sense in my head anyway...

Bottom line, I'm using 3 magnets and an AW 18350 w/o an issue:)
