It has the finish of a coffee Thermos.
Its holding up very nice.
Shows no dirt or fingerprints. I have not dropped it yet so I can't report to use about nicks. but everyday use does not scratch it up.

I'm digging the mahogany color on my vvg and the door of my grand. The black wrinkle is my 'dirty mod' lol

Your gonna have a real nice contrast of a basically flat finish of the black wrinkle compared to a nice slick finish of the hammertone.
Who am I kidding though............ they all look great.
