So, loving my siver vein Reo Grand. Picked up a Cyclone and now have a RM2 sitting idle. I like the Grand so much that I am going to sell off some of my other mods and buy a second Reo to put the RM2 back in the rotation.

Trouble is, I can't decide between the hammertone and the tumbled finish. Currently have both in my cart at Reos mods, but can only buy one.

The hammertone looks fantastic - that is a textured silver powdercoat finish vs a raw aluminum finish on the tumbled version - right?

I like the hammertone finish as it looks, well, more "finished" but I like the raw aluminum on the tumbled version since I don't have to ever worry about marking it up - it's already marred from the factory. :)

Decisions, decisions.....

I'm usually very decisive and rarely ask others to make my decisions for me, but - Help!??

Like you said the Hammertone is a painted finish. Versus a Tumbled Raw which feels like satin and provides a surface that does not show marking as much.

I love both finishes. But I really love the Tumbled for hard daily use.

You can always swap doors too. That adds to the mix with your silver vein!

Earth for now.
Get the Raw and one of each color door.

Then when you drop it like I just did you are sure it didn't get damaged, you will not even have to look. I had to look over the new hotrod to insure there was no damage to the spiffy paint job and when I get home I am going to have to give it a waxing just to feel better.

Or just get both then you will not have to worry about those choices, two down, dozens to go.

I have to say while I like the texture of the Hammertone, it truly is more of a gray color instead of silver and a lot darker than pics show, I like the raw much better, and in a perfect world I wish we could see more silver or clear anodized, as that is my most favorite finish on the Grand! I just recently picked up my first RAW in an LP Grand and I like the simplicity of the finish...may polish it later...then again may leave it as is and she how it ages a bit.
