@Yoitzo: ordered late last Sat. night. It could have been sitting in my mailbox over the past two days w/o my knowing it (!). We're in a rural area; packages get delivered to the house, while other mail goes to a box way down the road. Checked the mailbox today and -- oh yeah! -- remembered that I ordered the "no-box" PV kit; this allowed my delivery to fit in my mail slot. LOL! And here I've been on my porch, keeping watch for the USPS truck. Ha ha!

I just ordered 2 510 starter kits from HealthCabin. It will be my second (well, third sort of) e-cig in a week. I also got the USB Passthroughs and extra atttys (see...getting smarter all the time). I've been vaping since last Thur (10/30) and here's what I've learned so far...

-Vaping *IS* a viable alternative to smoking!

-All the research in the world can't teach you what a week of experience can.

I've been a 2-3 pk/day Marlbory Med. smoker for 20 yrs and I'd have been completely off analogs within a week if I hadn't made some noobie mistakes. I can't complain though, if I didn't screw it up in the first place, I'd have no appreciation for doing it right. As always, success is the reward you earn for learning from your mistakes.

I started off wth a PureSmokeOnline No. 7 kit due to the excellent reviews of Jason at technosmoke.com. This is a great product!...for about 2 days (which probably has something to do with my inexperience with vaping), but it did exactly what I was hoping for...it told me that, for me, vaping is a viable option to smoking. They are an excellent out-of-box experience. The only times I've smoked analogs since opening this first pkg was when the battery (yep, singular) was recharging. Luckily I had the foresight to also order some strong e-juice from vtvapor, otherwise I'd have run through my cartridges in a hurry (but this may have something to do with the short lifespan of the no-bridge, bare coil puresmokeonline attys).

This whole vaping thing is great! I was giddy (still am), but I just needed more of it. Time for a USB passthrough. Jason came to the rescue again, providing me the info that an M410 battery would fit the weird, custom attys from puresmokeonline, so I found a great deal at litecigusa for an M401 passthrough (along with 5 cartridges and an atty) for $24 shipped. It got here yesterday and has been permanently attached to my face ever since...lol. This thing ROCKS! This is the killer app of vaping (as long as you're sitting down next to a PC, which I am 90% of my waking hours). So, I need more e-joice, better e-cigs (thus the 510 kit from HealthCabin for $35, back-up attys and passthroughs too of course) and may just build one of the "detonator" mods if I get bored this weekend :).

Funny thing about that. Two weeks ago, I wouldn't have even considered using an e-cig that looks like something that might get you in trouble with Homeland Security. Now that I have been vaping and my biggest concerns are throat hit and battery life, I don't care at all if what I'm vaping from actually looks like a cigarette or not. The No. 7 kit got me into vaping and that's all that counts in my book.

All told, I think it will have taken me less than 2 weeks to completely quit smoking analogs and with the $ saved by not smoking I will break even from my vaping investments in less than 3.

Thanks to all the brave vaping pioneers who went before me!

LOL!!!! Exactly what i've been doing, checking the front door, checking the mail box, checking the leasing office just in case no one was home to get it. I heard about their CRAZY fast delivery... i JUST got three sampler juices i ordered from Nhaler the same day so at least i'll have some other flavors to try.

HOW'S THE 510???? how's the marlboro flavor??? How's the nic???

i'm dying to get mine so i'm living vicariously through you at the moment. LOL

Okay, Yoitzo, here's my report so far (YMMV) --

* No analog smoked since 5pm Fri 10/30 (it is 11:00am Sat 10/31 as I write this)
* While I clearly have that 510 learning curve to navigate re: proper use (um, gigantor clouds o' vapor, where are you?), I must be getting the nic fix I crave, because I haven't felt compelled to reach for an analog so far.
* Alternating between one auto batt and one man batt - I like 'em both about the same, so far. Hard to determine length of charge retained, since I don't know whether one times the "charge held" only by usage or also incorporating stand by time. That being said, my auto lasted several hours last night, and I switched to the manual late last night just to try it out, then have been continuing with that one this morning.
* My kit came with "high" nic Marl carts - WOAH, glad I was prepared with flavorless 0mg nic to dilute with!
* Taste of Marl carts = meh. Even before diluting, I could barely taste anything, but that could be due to a number of factors previously discussed in various threads of this forum. So taste = not bad, not good, just kinda, um, there. Sorta. It's probably me, more than the carts!
* Topped off with Cuban Cigar from Matt of WetYourStick.com -- never dreamed I'd enjoy a "cigar" flavor, but I do like this! Still, the flavor is quite mild to me, but again, I suspect that's mostly Newbie User Skills at work. :/ (Although I have read about 510 flavor issues here and there in threads.)
* I've been vaping in front of a mirror to help monitor and better control my draw time and technique and vapor production; that has proven to be somewhat helpful in refining how I vape.
* Vaping surely is _not_ "just like" smoking. Yet, I don't seem to mind. The "smoke" is, hm, how to describe, smoother, not irritating, not dry.
* I have _always_ needed to have a beverage in hand while smoking, to add wetness to my throat. I've been vaping several sessions now without requiring coffee or juice or anything. That's nice!
* This is surprising: I am now noticing the smell of yesterday's not-yet-cleaned-out ashtray. It's not bothersome, but, it's not a smell I so overtly noticed before. Senses don't start making a comeback THAT quickly, do they??
* FYI, I've been smoking since March 1990, about a pack of lights per day.
* I did not originally plan to take up vaping as a way to "quit smoking," but as a way to enjoy my nic fix in otherwise inhospitable situations (in car with kids, in friends' homes, etc.) -- that was my original thought; to use vaping when and where I can't smoke. Um, I think it is turning into a full time replacement.
* Embarrassed that it has been THIS EASY for me to _not_ reach for a traditional cig. No other methods of smoking cessation were successful this long without having to endure painful cravings.

I'm looking forward to hearing of your own experiences with it!

You most certainly are not alone. After months of vaping ever time I have an order coming I do the same thing. If it is anything e-cig related I get antsy waiting for it. Doesn't even matter if it's just juice in a flavor that I am not even out of yet. Funny thing......I don't recall ever getting excited like that over cigarettes.

i don't think that giddyness fades?

I've gotten quite a few shipments of vaping wares, juice, more HW, etc. and every time, I'm always quite antsy. At least for me, everytime I know a shipment is on its way, I freak out, and probably check the mail, oh.....bout 15 times a day?

I think most people have the same experience. :)
Enjoy!

MINE'S HERE!!!!!!!!! DANCE DANCE DANCE!!!!!!! MINE'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

So i got pretty much the same thing as yours, i believe.... the $35 no box from cignot with the high marlboro. i TOTALLY agree with you about the flavor, it's eeh... But i dripped two drops of the minty tobacco i got from nhaler and it's much better.

did yours need a charge? I popped mine into the charger and five minutes later when i looked over IT WAS GREEN!!!! BOTH BATTERIES!!! I stopped to do another little dance before blowing out the attys and popped 'em on and started to vape.

One was perfect the other had that burnt taste :-x like most ppl said they get but i kept dropping on the atty and kept clearing out the factory primer.

The smoke feels like a hooka smoke, light and less burny. TOTALLY agree with you about the Marlboro highs, I'm glad I had back up juice to dilute it cause the throat hit on that one was RECKLESS!!!!

i TOO noticed that my throat is not dried out as it would be with analog cigs. I used to have to ALWAYS have coffee, juice, soda or water with me but with these, they're so smoooooth :p but i'll listen to everyone else and keep hydrating for my throat.

I used to be a pack to pack and a half of Parliament and Marlboro lights a day since 2000 so i think my taste buds are dead cause i don't really see the differences b/w the coffee flavors (cafe mocha and french vanilla from nhaler) but that's something i can look forward to.

OH! as for the vapor, I'm getting a HUGE vapor (also might be why the flavors aren't really there). MUCH more "smoke" than my analogs. I was really worried about that cause i LOVE the smoke part of smoking LOL and was very glad. But i did notice with the ......ed atty that had the slightly burnt taste i wasn't getting much vape...maybe you should check out the atty make sure it's not flooded or dried?

again 100% agree with the "not-reaching-for-cigs". This is the first time i've attempted to quit and i was dreading it but with this vapin' experience i think i'm pretty much done with analogs. ^_____^ *cheers*
