On my way home from work today I saw two older gentleman probably in their 60s putting American flags in the ground at each of the graves in a cemetery during a torrential downpour. It nearly brought a tear to my eye. It's moments like that which make me proud to be an American.

I thank all veterans who serve this country by standing up to all enemies foreign and domestic who fought in legal justified wars when the United States was threatened. I applaud those who did their duty via the U.S. Constitution and not simply because they were ordered to by those who would usurp the power given to them by the People of The United States.

Here's to you Pete my step dad who served in the Navy and Army who passed two months ago.

Here's to you Dad who served in Korea and passed in 96. You may have been grunts who blindly went into wars we didn't belong in and had to follow orders orders that should never have been given but you stuck through it right or wrong and I'm sure it helped you two to become better men. I love you both.
