Family just headed back to their houses. I smoked a turkey on my Weber charcoal grill today, and it turned out pretty good (for my first time ever cooking a turkey). The smoke really added some great flavor, and I can barely move from eating too much!

Awesome! I love using charcoal instead of gas. Never done a turkey though. Did you have to replace the coals? Did you use a charcoal chimney?

Friend of mine did a deep fried turkey once, it was outstanding too.

My 6 year old came back from school on Friday saying how ugly turkeys were in real life. "It had TWO noses Dad!".

Yes, charcoal rules! This is my baby. I do use the chimney to get the coals going. It took around 3.5 hours to cook, so yes, I had to keep adding more coals every 45 minutes to an hour to keep the temp constant.

The funny thing was when we went to bed last night, my wife complained I smelled like smoke! I haven't had to hear that in a few months :)
