I'm like a magpie and can't help myself from choosing the next set of shiney metal goodness. Fortunately due to travel restrictions I'm leaving my gear abroad at work and have to buy a home set. .... the pain ;)
So the other day I bought my 1st dripper. It was shiney and lovely. Now whilst on my lonely self in the evenings I sit listening to the radio dripping away, happily blowing clouds. I realised that apart from disgusting melon flavours I'll vape anything! The thought struck me maybe I should pay more attention to flavours and quality? But then I'll drink nearly any wine of beer so maybe i'm a lost cause. ....
But the metal, it's so shiney and feels so good. ...... !
So are you a flavour lover or stroker of bling?

I've been both, at the same time. I spent 3+ years collecting tube mods, genisis tanks, drippers, etc., while at the same time being a DIY juice maker, creating dozens of recipes. It was common for my juice cabinet to contain 30 or so bottles of juice, and my shelf to contain as many various mods and attys.
I got off the bus about 1 1/2 years ago, after getting my first Reo squonker and bottom feed atomizer. Nowadays, I have several Reos and Reo Woodvils, but they are all I use, with mostly unflavored juice with just a drop or two of flavor in the bottle. Things got a lot simpler, and as a side benefit, I vape for pennies. I don't keep up much on the 'latest and greatest' anymore.

I'm definitely both a gear-head and a flavoring junkie. I started DIY-ing about 6 months ago and have about 50 flavorings and 20 or so recipes steeping at any given time. I started vaping in August last year and have acquired 6 mods and 13 toppers since I upgraded from eGo's. I'm looking for some vape mail today with 6 new flavors and I'm shopping for a Christmas present for myself today too. It's easy to make a hobby out of vaping, and as hobbies go, it's a cheap one as long as you don't have to have the most expensive gear. Clones and Chinese mods are cheap and shiny and I'm absolutely suffering from acute shinyitis. Lol!

Not really fell into either category. I seem to find a happy middle ground. Get a nice modest kit and use nice modest juice which suits tastes. I do not spend much on either category. Do not have much to spend for it. Wife lets me have a modest stipend to use for whatever. It is not exactly a fixed income yet nearly so. Ergo, I budget.

I am going to likely be buying more hardware in the near future. This will be to offset any kind of regulations on the horizon. The hardware I'll buy will have components what will be difficult further regulating and be stable in requiring only those components on replacement basis. May also buy up some nicotine, although not too horribly concerned over it.

Definitely a hardware junkie. 99% of the time I vape DIY unflavoured (it's a poor term as it actually produces a lot of flavour), but in this run into Xmas, and in no small part due to a fantastic vape store opening up within 5mins walk of my home, I've bought the following:

Vapor Flask DNA40 v2.1 (backup to my mainstay v2.1)

Efusion DNA200 (for when 40watts won't cut it, see below)

Vaper Shark rDNA40 (Travel MOD so the above aren't confiscated by various customs)

Aromamiser RDTA (For massive air flow and high power)

Youde Bellus (as a sensible alternative RTA)

Dot Mod RDA (so I've got a deck I can comfortably build TC coils on)

I'd say I only bought the Aromamiser and the Dot Mod because I bought the Efusion and my standard setups really don't need more that 30watts, but it's really just one rationalisation after another when you have shinnyitis :)

Gear for me.

I got a DIY thats the only I thing I can stand anymore. I used to like a store bought juice sometimes but I never finish the bottle. Somethings I make a new DIY and say "wow thats great" and never touch it again.

Hardware OTOH I can't seem to stop collecting.

Any mod between 30-50 watts tempts me.

Any RTA with dual coils and good airflow has my attention.

I'm much better now but still worse then average. Not many mods that fit the above haven't passed through my vape skinners.

My authentic phase was what broke me. Lost alot of money during that period. From now on its clones only. I'll leave the moral battles to others and just buy play pretties for my own pleasure.

Not really either, I have about 500ml of DIY eliquid stored up, and an iPV3 Li with a Zephyrus V2, and my Innokin Disrupter with a Zephyrus V1, I guess you can say I like the Zephyrus tanks  I have two other tanks I rarely use though (Goblin for TC, and an iSub G which is horrible) I mainly use my iPV3 Li but my innokin disrupter I use with a different flavour in the tank so I don't get used to my delicious flavours. Aslong as I have a backup, I'm all good, I have a backup set of batteries for my iPV3 Li, a spare innocell for my disrupter, so I have a backup for my backup which is backing up my main device's backup :)

Hardware junkie. I'm a tech nerd. I have way too many tanks, and too many vw mods. This hobby (for me) is more expensive than smoking but smoking never was a hobby I never was fascinated about cigarettes it was just enjoyable. Vaping might cost more but it's %95 safer, taste better, and it is a hobby. Sorry for going off topic.

Both for me but I am still in my newbie phase.

I have 2 mods (Kanger Subox and Snow Wolf 200) with a 3rd (my first - a 40w iStick) recently confiscated by my 20 year old. I have a RX200 on order and will likely be getting a 150-200w Sigelei or 75w Snow Wolf for Christmas. I don't think I will go any more crazy on mods as the technology changes so fast and I don't want to be buying the "latest and greatest" if I just bought a few of the "nearly latest and greatest".

I do have a good collection of tanks (Subtanks, Nautilus', Super Tank Minis, Uwell Crowns and a Aromamizer) and RBAs for the Crowns, Kangers and Aromamizer. I am set for tanks as I love what I have for vaping anywhere between 10w and 80w. I don't need more tanks.

I did buy a bunch of juice to try new things initially and stocked up on Black Friday sales. I bought about 25 assorted bottles from Mountain Oak for an average of $5/30ml and found a local juice maker that sells 60ml for about $7USD. I have lots of juice but only a couple bottles that were over $10/30ml. I recently started making DYI and my first couple of batches taste promising.

Vaping helped me quit smoking but is also a new hobby for me that I enjoy. Better than heavy gambling, going to bars every night or doing crystal .... IMO. :D
