Quick questions: are you sensitive to throat hit? I'm just wondering if sensitivity to TH could be an indicator for sensitivity to PG.

Doubtful. I was vaping 85% PG, and the only ill effects are the foot/ankle swelling indicating my dehydration. I *LOVE* throat hit, can't do without it, but too much, like from a dripper, sends me straight for my inhaler. Same issue to a lesser degree when I first got the kayfun; I had to go down to 67% PG so the TH from the kayfun didn't also send me straight for the inhaler.

By sensitivity to TH, I meant people who can't stand a certain level of TH. Interesting information though, as it point to the fact that not being sensitive to TH does not mean you won't have any issues with PG. Then again, TH is also dependent on your setup.

For me, the biggest problem seems to be dehydration; for many years before I started vaping, I've struggled with dehydration, probably because of PG in my albuterol inhaler -- I always wondered why even when I went off the albuterol pills, I still got god awful leg cramps -- now I know, it was the Pg, coupled with the fact that I've been plagued by hot flashes for about 15 yrs, and that causes a great deal of sweating! Now I add the vaping to all that, and it's rather unsurprising that my body is showing actual physical symptoms of dehydration. Pity. I've always been vain of my slender ankles. Now I seem to have developed cankles. :( but I have substantially decreased my PG proportion in my ejuice, trying to drink a lot more water, and I take those time outs to elevate my feet. My mom says they need to be above the level of my heart to make the elevation really effective, but that's not easy when you have asthma, you're basically lying semi-upright but on your back, and that's quite problematic for me, it feels like there's an anvil on my chest.

Someone said something about sharp pain in the center of your chest -- I was having those for a while before I stopped smoking, but only when I was kinda stressed out in general, and/or overdoing the caffeine. I found it quite alarming -- my father had angina, and his father had multiple heart attacks -- but I'm glad to realize that I haven't had those since I left off the cigarettes! I hadn't even realized it till whoever it was said that about the sharp pains. I would definitely decrease the nic level! And the caffeine too, if that applies; I've heard round here that caffeine may have a greater effect on vapers.

Thanks. That's quite a medical history with PG! In the end, though, it is still not a death threat such as those posed by cigarettes.

I sometimes have sharp chest pains, but they're muscular and on the surface. I can just press on them with my fingers and massage it away. Those are apparently caused by stress. If you can't put your finger on it, it might be recommendable to consult your doctor. I think those are happening less often since switching over to vaping but I haven't been vaping for long, so it might not mean anything.

Vaping for 11 days, no cigs for 9. Nic has been lowered due to nic highs. When I vape more than two hits, my chest gets heavy/tight. I've gone from 65/35 pg/vg to 50/50. I've ordered organic vg/flavor with 12 nic. I can't figure out if the chest issue is from pg or vg. Recent chest x-ray shows no long issues so not pre existing. No other ill side effects from vaping other than the normal cough/phlem due to no cigs and/or e-cig newbie. Thoughts?? Sorry to jump in!

I had similar "tight chest" feelings when I first started vaping. I was using juices that ranged from 70% PG to 50% PG blends. I switched to 70% VG blends (where available) and it helped a lot. Its not a fix for everybody but it helped me. Some people are sensitive to PG. Try some more VG heavy juices but be aware that it also means you get more vapor so maybe dial your hits back a bit at first.

Neglected Expensive bags of tobacco drying out

Positive:
No dry cough
No brown gunk coughed up
Improved breathing
Better wind
Less fatigue

Absolutely, which is why I'm more annoyed by the swollen ankles than alarmed. I have no other medical issues that might mean that swollen ankles were something to worry about.

The ones I had were definitely not surface; it felt like something deep inside the center of my chest had just tried very hard to escape, using an icepick. Intense pain, but very fleeting; by the time I noticed it and felt alarmed, it would be gone. But sometimes it would happen several times in a row, and *that* was alarming, given the med history on my father's side. It's a huge relief to realize that I've had none of those since I quit the cigarettes -- as if I needed another good reason never to return to them! :D

Hi
I have been vaping for just a few days & notice that my tongue & the roof of my mouth are feeling like they have been burned...like when you drink a very hot liquid too quickly...and your mouth is sore for a day or two. When I wake up...I'm fine...but fairly quickly (hours) my mouth seems to feel burned again...I'm using a 50/50 PG/VG mix and a 12mg nic juice from Mt Baker. I'm not vaping excessively and I'm stumped. I'm also using a bunch of flavors to try to figure it all out

At first I thought it was the heat of the vapor...like the feeling way too many cigarettes in a short time felt. However, as I'm fine for the first few vapes..I'm wondering if it's something else...connected to giving up anaolgs. It's irritating but I haven't developed any sores (yet). It isn't making the experience great...but I'll be damned if I go back to tobacco.

Has anyone else experienced this burned mouth/tongue feeling & does it go away???
Thanks
Southie

Important to keep yourself hydrated as vaping drys you out..over doing 1 flavour will give you vapers tongue in which you will loose the ability to taste your flavour and I'm currently using blackjack flavour and that itself is giving me a sort of burnt type sensation on my tongue but that is down to the aniseed
Sure others will give you some pointers

Thanks Keith...it's I'm drinking lots of water while vaping...and I can still taste...so far..still waiting for the Vapors' tongue ;-)
But this burned feeling on the roof of my mouth & tongue is annoying...I really want to enjoy vaping...let's see how it goes.
Thanks for the reply!

Vaping 6 months, so not really that long of a term, but here's what I've noticed so far. My mustache is no longer yellowish grey from smoking. My fingers are no longer yellow. My clothes don't stink. I breath easier, I can do more without getting winded. My house smells like exotic fruit blends most of the time. I taste my food now. I've lost almost 40 lbs.

The only bad side effect is that I have problems keeping my wallet in my pocket when I find new and unique juice flavors.
