What in the world is going on here. There are even some products that are insanely priced with the words "Adopted" over them. Are things just extremely, insanely expensive in North Carolina or wherever this is? Due to taxes? Or are these people just monsters?
I have heard of this site... Visited once or twice. It's a legit site. Sadly, most of the users are people that got rooked at crooked B&Ms and feel like what they're asking is fair.

We have 5 vape shops in my town. 2 are very good 2 are not bad and 1 is just a rip off palace. they dont show the prices and make it up depending on how much they like the customer. I think anyone shopping online would check prices beteen a few sites if they were wanting value for money. That site sounds terrible.

Some vendors just KNOW that folks will stumble across them, new, and vastly overprice their goods. So yes, they are essentially monsters. Also, it's important to check shipping prices, which is an annoyance indeed at times, because you have to deal with the purchase and everything first. I thought I was getting a great price on something, but then "shipping and taxes" added like over $50 for a set of things that cost less than $30. Pretty sure they were a US vendor, too.

And yes, people do actually fall for this stuff, glad you didn't.

Man, switching to vaping has taught me an insane amount about online shopping. Mainly, that it's worth it but you have to do your due diligence.

So true! Switching to vaping has definitely taught me a lot about online shopping and being in vape shops has taught me about peoples entitlement, It's super interesting now that you have me thinking about it lol. I can't stand the people that think vape stuff should be free and on the opposite end I definitely can't stand businesses that would over charge their customers like that. Ironically I saw an authentic time keeper on there for a pretty reasonable price lol, so it's literally just singling out the weakest in the herd (the new to vaping older folks most likely) and hitting them hard AF. Most people looking for a time keeper are well aware of prices online and in store..

Say what???? IMO, it's just the opposite!

We older vapers are more likely to comparison shop, weigh all things considered (ie. item cost, S/H, vendor reputation, etc.), than a younger "newbie" who doesn't take the time to do that.

When I am scoping out a new site, I will drop a couple of products in the cart that I am interested in, go to check out, use fake details and an address that is close to mine but not mine and check their shipping rates. If they are unreasonable, I close the browser tab and don't shop there and they didn't get to collect my address/email for their future spam usage. If the prices are reasonable I close the tab, and go back and use real details to order.

That really annoys me when you cant find out the shipping costs withouth signing up/having to fill a cart/selling your soul/making a sacrifice to the old gods/inputting your email. Just make it clear from the get go how much that costs, its not rocket science you numpties!

I hate that too, but they do that because valid email addresses have value. Once they get it, they can use it to send you advertisements to try and get you to come back and buy something. Over time, if you don't, they will bundle non-customer addresses into a lot and sell them to other advertisers.

They need to know your general area for taxes and shipping. But they don’t need an email for that, a zip code will do, and other types of stores only require that to calculate.

Correct. That is all they actually need, but some sites force you to give more details to even get to that point. I have seen a few that actually require you to create an account just to get to the page where shipping is calculated. If I can get the product elsewhere, I usually do. If not, I will create a dummy account with details to send them a message (example below). If I like the total cost then I create a real account.

Example:
First Name: Justcheckin
Last Name: Shippingcosts
Email: screwyour@account.com
Address: 1234 This is Ridiculous
City: (my actual city)
Zip: (my actual Zip)

I do something similar but my first name usually begins with F and the last name Y (U). Those type of tactics highly irritate me ---
