i have personally not, but from what i have heard, depending on your set up, if you take it apart you should not have a problem, plus china, e-cigs birthplace, they should know what it is, lets hope

--that's what I thought; Hong Kong, should be no problem. Until I spoke with my friend there, during the chit- chat, told him that I started vaping & stopped smoking for 6 months now, feeling great, more importantly, much more healthier, no more morning cough.
He said Wow, that's really great, wished he can try it, but too bad they (HK) banned the e-cig. I said " W?..."

It's really a bummer! Can't imagine holding that that that ciiiiiiiiiiggg again.

Welcome , and not all is lost just yet . Get a few disposables to take , and put them in your carry -on , or laptop bag . I've never had any airport security , even ask what they were . But if you don't have that sort of luck , the most they can do is confiscate a few cheap disposables . Not the end of the world .

Japan to NoVA
Most TSA agents are educated about what ecigs are and what they look like. Your only problem would be the liquid. Put in a ziplock.

Now upon departing HK, who knows. I would still ziplock the liquid. As far as ecigs, when I was there I was still a smoker.

Good luck & enjoy your trip!

I recently flew to HK and back with ecigs, and had no issues. Juices were in my checked bag, but I had a fully loaded clearomizer and battery in carry on.

Thanks for the info Dogrocket. Were you able to vape in HK? Did they scan your carry on and ask questions when you return?

I feel pretty comfortable leaving SFO airport. The problem I have is entering and especially Departing HK airport. Since its illegal to possess the the e-cig, they can put a huge fine on you. If their action is just confiscate it, then I'm willing to bring an Ego twist and risk loosing $50.

Thanks and appreciate all the advises.
