Has anyone had this happen? Wake up and every juice you have is disgusting?

I posted this in another thread, but it probably should be here instead. My day got off to an awful start..my bottom feed quit working, my only ego battery was dead, I had given my 510 to my son..so I threw the ego on the charger long enough that it would fire, and dripped some of my favorite juice.. YUCK... it was bitter, acrid and harsh. I washed out the atty, the drip tip and tried another juice that I like- SAME THING. I then smelled every bottle I have (from tons of suppliers and a bunch of DIY) and to me, they all had the same smell. I was really upset and starting to panic, I thought maybe I had become sensitized to the taste of nicotine and that I would never be able to vape again and would end up going back to analogs. Well, as a last resort, I mixed up some 60/40 unflavored 24mg and vaped that and it's fine...it got me out of nicotine withdrawls and I'm vaping it now with no problem BUT, WTH is going on? Has anyone ever had this happen? For now I'm going to have to just vape unflavored I guess. :(

I should add that I am a little odd in that since I was a kid if I tasted or smelled something that 'bothered me' I would never try it again. I got sick eating raspberries when I was little and to this day I can't even stand to think about them...

I can't say I've ever had that happen, but I can empathize with the long term turn off to a taste. When I was a child I was chewing some gum when a sever ear infection kicked in with the pain. After a trip to the E.R. and a painful draining of my ear, I got some relief but was not able to even stomach the though of chewing that particular brand of gum for about the next 20 or 25 years!

A couple of things come to mind regarding your juice situation...

1) Have they been sitting around for a while?

2) Sometimes if you have a cold coming on it will alter your sense of taste/smell.

3) Maybe your sense of taste/smell sort of "woke up on the wrong side of the bed". That's happened to me in the past.

Hope you find your answer.

actually yes I have had that happen, I blame it on my taste buds changing almost daily, I actually fell off the no analog wagon three weeks in, nothing tasted good, not even the analog, but when I did fall off the wagon it was only a couple over two days, not a pack. I gave vaping a break for a few hours. When I went back to it all was well, I only had 2-3 flavors and all were similar.

I'm going to have more flavors on hand, from now on, I'm thinking vaping is more about taste than smoking is, when I first started I was looking for one flavor to replace smoking, now I'm realizing that my tastebuds will get sick of the same thing day after day.

I'm new at DIY and have come up with a bunch of flavors that some folks may love, but nothing that I feel like I can vape AD/ED. My tastebuds don't even pick up the flavors yet, but more so the aromas. I'm starting to experience the sweetness on my tongue from Stevia, but I'm not so sure I like it so much. I have gone through every carto with every different flavor, unsatisfied, before, yes. I haphazardly grabbed an analog and THAT tasted worse, by far. I'm rather new, so my input may be moot. I know some days I want sushi and others I just want pizza, or I want a beer today, but bourbon tomorrow. It's just our wonderful body chemistry telling us to diversify our indulgence. No worries!

I bought a lot of juice and was so excited because they were all highly recommended and I though they were going to my all day vapes forever. One day, I was searching through to see what to vape and none looked good. I wound up trading, selling, or sending them to pay it forward. Now I've found the juice I really like and kept them for awhile. Our tastes are constantly changing and if you're like me, you get tired of the same thing over and over. I've only reordered three flavors in almost a year: want2vape blondie, Intellicig Ecopure Rich, and Backwoods Brew Malty Toffee.

I've been going thru this almost daily. Quick explanation...i teach public school. My schedule has me going the first 4 hours of my day back to back classes, no real chance to vape. Every day when that 4th class ends, I close my door and pull out my eGo. And every day it's harsh and acrid. I've gotten to a point where i'm starting to think it's the inside of my mouth that's the problem. My gums and mouth feel "hot"and everything seems off. I've experimented with water (some help), a peppermint (made it MUCH worse) and brushing my teeth (some help). I'm convinced there must be a solution, but I haven't found it yet. I'm also guessing my problem comes from talking for 4 hours straight and my mouth becoming similar to"morning breath"mouth. If anybody here knows of a solution, i'd love to know it too. Does this kind of fit your issue, pixiedust?

Well, the description is identical, and I had not vaped yet this morning when this happened, but I was well hydrated and had just brushed my teeth...other than that I just don't know. It was irritating to say the least since I've done so well not even craving analogs & this whole episode just made me feel like throwing in the towel. I'm still vaping unflavored everything still smells yucky to me..

I keep all my my juice in a dark closet in a closed metal box, it's all fresh and I have vaped it for 3 months without this occuring..well, there has been some juice that seemed harsh and acrid, but not ALL of it. I woke up happy but that changed fast when my mod wouldn't work and I didn't have a charged battery lol.. so I guess it could be a combination of things. I think I will just stick to non-flavored and then add in flavors to it on my own over time, probably starting with just a little cotton candy which is pretty benign.

bingo! I felt fine all day, then this evening I started sneezing and my nose started running..so that is probably what's going on.

I'm going through that right now. Got a slight case of cold, so that could be the reason for the off-taste. All the juices taste muted, so I'm pretty much going through the motion of vaping and not getting any enjoyment out of taste. Only juice that I can taste it seems are the strong fruit-flavored ones, like BWB's Green Apple and Peach. That should get me going until I get out of this funk.

I find that often when I haven't vaped for a few hours the flavors will taste nasty and harsh. Many times I will start vaping a juice first thing in the morning that I loved the night before and it will be just way too strong and tasts awful. I just keep vaping anyway and before I know it, it starts tasting good again. Don't know why it can taste so different at different times.
