You have problems with your Lavatube V2 falling over? That's about as stable a base as you can get! :) They're pretty dang fat!

To be honest my v2 has never tipped over, but all my other pv's have, so I'm always uneasy leaving the v2 standing! The only times it has fallen it was hanging on that piece of crap lanyard that volcano has the nerve to charge $5 for...it fell twice cuz the metal banding that holds the lanyard together broke, and once because the clasp itself broke...not the metal ring, the clasp! I replace my lanyard with one from a lvs and haven't had any problems. I'm not much for blue, but that blue v2 of yours IS quite striking!

I'm using a Berkshire AGA-T (very similar - 100% stainless steel) and I'm using twisted 32g nichrome with 6 wraps since I couldn't get an effective wrap with 28g kanthal. This gives me a lot of coverage at 1.4 ohms that I can run at 3.8 without blowing it out on long draws.

Took the pic on my Nexus, so quality is awful, sorry.

RBA's aren't for everyone... They can be awfully moody...

There wasn't any setups you were happy with before trying out RBA's? If the RBA route hadn't worked out for me, I would have gone back to tanks & cartos... I love these things though... Between the Terminator-C and the AGA-T+, I get some great vaping.

Sorry you're having such a difficult time with em. Care to share your specific issue? Maybe we can get you marching down a path to success?

well first my torch won't hold enough butane ROFL.... i honestly don't think i'm getting the right amount of oxidization on my wick because no matter what i do, i have a hotspot between the top coil and the wick. I just want to taste my juice again lol.

That top coil hot spot is likely due to one of your coils not contacting the wick evenly, or it is biting into it too tightly. Set your pv on 3ish volts and dry burn your coil. press and poke, move and prod your coils until the hot spot goes away. Once there, up the volts by .2 and repeat. Once you are at 3.8v and no hot spots, fill and vape.

I just wanted to pass on a trick a friend of mine came up with. He watched a youtube video showing the 'drill bit' method, but didn't have any small drill bits. Searching around for a suitable replacement, he cut the end off an Equate brand ear swab and used it instead. In my opinion it fits the hole better than a 3/32" drill bit, and it's easier to see and adjust the coil on the swab. Also I noticed is that if you cut both ends off about where the cotton starts, it's only a little bit longer than the wick you'll end up with, so I also use it to size my wick.

Gonna try that when I get home from work for sure. That's being resourceful.

This looks really bad... Any reason you chose the tank from My Vapor Store over the IBTanked? I mean, other than price? To me, an extra $3 and some change for the IBTanked would have been worth the saved trouble...

Interesting, I've sent out two emails with pictures to My Vapor Store over the last two days and have not seen a response from them yet....should I begin to worry?

This.

I am new to the RBA scene also and I almost always have a massive hotspot at the top leading to the post. I found just some simple poking and prodding like eHuman said does the trick although it takes alot more than just one or two pokes sometimes.

I have been trying to get this whole wick/coil thing down before my Sweet Medicine iHybrid LE shows up. Today, I wraped a 4/3 of 30 which came out to around 1.2 and literally blowing my mind. Overnic'd but loving it...

Also, for what it's worth I stopped doing the whole burn, quench, burn, quench process. I torch the mesh evenly before I roll it, roll it, torch it up and down once and that's it.My biggest issue at first was wicking and I felt like over oxidizing was my problem and using this method thus far has yielded me pretty good results. Here's a video of AG showing it.
