My e-cig has successfully passed the booze and stress test!

In the past when I would try to quit, things would go fine until I either drank some beers or encountered some stress. When that would happen I would be heading to the nearest convenience store immediately to buy a pack of smokes! Since I have started vaping, I have drank probably about 3 times and have not reverted to cigarettes. I have had the most stressful weeks in months and have not reverted back to smokes.

These electronic cigarettes are the bees knees! I love em!

Me too, but unfortunately I have been bogged down with class work the last week and have not been able to drink at all. And I am use to having a few beers at the end of every day. It's been torture!

I knew they were working for me when hubby almost died last year (thankfully he made it and is now doing great) and I was more stressed than I'd ever been in my life and I made it thru without smoking. I admit I thought about it, but I thought about sitting by his bed stinking of cigs and fought through it. The advantage of being able to vape in his room at the hospital was great too. It meant I didn't have to leave him and walk a mile to get to somewhere to smoke.

I have found that when I am really stressed and contemplate a real smoke, I just directly inhale into my lungs, the biggest hit I can take and hold as long as possible. The mad rush of nicotine and light headiness from holding my breath calms me down almost instantly.

Oh, and I am glad you were able to stay off the smokes and that your husband made it through everything ok =)

The first couple times I drank with me ecig it was a little odd, but I love it now..

The only thing I don't like is "smoking" and then vapeing.. my liquid always tastes terrible, althought I don't "smoke" often so its not really an issue

I was really nervous going to Las Vegas just after quitting. I brought my high level nic with me though and it got me through fine. Wife and I even bought some cigars just for fun but never fired em up. Sat next to smokers at the tables, nope not a problem either. Been almost 100 days (Looks at signature) now and not a single puff even with many nights hitting the turps...

I agree completely! Drinking and smoking just always went hand in hand, when they outlawed smoking in bars it was a real drag, just didn't seem right drinking without smoking. Then I would go out for a smoke, but couldn't drink. Something was just missing in that little ritual, but I can vape in the bars and drink at the same time! Ahh, so happy again

If you have gone this far then this will give the confidence to stay away from analogs for good.

Great to read this, congrats! I was a bit concerned about the "drinking test" too. I was a pack and a half+ a day smoker, but could easily burn a pack or more on a night at the corner bar. The second night after I had my last analog, I went in for a few, and it didn't bother me at all. All of the regulars were busy puffing away, and I just vaped along with them, no problem at all.

This is something I haven't quite figured out... the more I drink, the more I love vaping. With cigarettes, it always seemed that a few beers lead to things like buying unfiltereds. With vaping, it just gets better with beer.

Go figure.

What is your favorite vapin liquid for when you are out drinking? Does it change based on whether you are drinking beer or liquor?

I was wondering that too. I did ok with some stress, just vaped like a steam train and got through. But I've kinda moved on from the cigarette flavored juices. I've got a long anticipated cruise coming up very soon, there will be drinking , so I'm wondering if I should stock up on some "Cowboy" juice or something.

I haven't tried any cigarette flavored juices. When I am boozing I don't really care about the flavor, as long as I am inhaling a .... load of nicotine I'm good.

I think the key is that we're so used to having something to do with our hands while drinking, so just the act of vaping is good no matter what flavor you vape.

I live in Reno and while we aren't big gamblers DH and I always take advantage of the cheap casino meal offers..I have no problems at all being around all that smoke, except that NOW when we leave I can smell the smoke on my clothes YUCK...

I noticed the same thing! Still can't believe how much I used to stink and either I didn't listen or nobody told me loud enough to get it through my thick head!
