Our Government is failing us big time. Like many, I see the wrong in our system. It is a system which fails most of us, except the top one percent of people whom have more money than the lower 95 percent of us combined.

Then I first watched the Zeitgeist movies (http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/) about five months ago. Wow, did those ever give me a bitter attitude. The "elite" whom control the money and power in our society, will stop at nothing to maintain their agenda.... a One World Power. Even if it means destroying the United States, and every thing it stands for.

I honestly believe our country will go through a revolution eventually, just a matter of time. The American dollar will slip and loose it's value as the worlds leading currency. Hyper inflation will kick in, unemployment will remain high. People won't have enough food, no homes, as well as other necessary staples of life.

I will probably go to the theater this weekend and watch "Capitalism" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhydyxRjujU. I hope it will open the eyes of millions of people, those who don't understand or those whom simple don't care.

maybe the FDA just doesnt want to approve a product that they found dangerous chemicals in? I like how we message boarders are claiming to know better than scientists in labs saying there is no evidence these are safer than real cigarettes. May be less chemicals, but there may be other issues.

Has the FDA approved analogs? Of course not. Yet those are not banned. I really don't give a happy horse crap what the Freaking Dumb Arses approve or don't approve, but why do they get the right to take away my freedom to weigh the options and make my own decision? Them trying to claim that nicotine is a 'new' drug, is just ridiculous BS. By the time that they are done with their 'testing' I am sure you will need a script for e-cigs and the price will be twice that of analogs.

Still I wouldn't say that I have 'lost' faith in the gov't. There wasn't much left there to lose.

If you want to know what scientists in labs have to say, read the independent review of the FDA testing done by some other scientists in labs. The results of that independent review are pretty clear and straightforward, unlike the way the FDA presented their original testing results, and they are pretty much consistent with what we "message boarders" have uncovered while doing our own research.

The FDA has an agenda here.
I would think that is pretty clear to those who have been following along.

As a scientist who works in a lab for a living, and having read the report, I can assure you there are definitely plenty of holes to poke. That report simply would not stand up to peer review at all; but then again it was not written up in order to do so. Critical elements like "Presence of tobacco specific impurities cotinine, nicotine-N-oxide, nornicotine, anabasine and myosmine was negative at 60 deg C." (when the e-liquid was vaporized) were left as foot-notes in the tables they listed.

The FDA's report and the conclusions drawn within are such that they're compared to Absolute Safety i.e. this is more likely to give you cancer than purified water (to note, overcooked bacon and beef jerky also fall into this category). Not a very realistic baseline to gauge against given the intent of this product.

If anything, the only thing the FDA should be focusing on given this report is the labeling as a result of the quality control issues raised in the report; something easily accomplished by adjusting the labels. The no-nic liquids that DeKang produces, and I'm assuming that's the liquid used in the carts, are produced in the same factory that produces the nic liquids. Cross contamination happens in situations like that, it's why food labels have warnings along the lines of "may contain traces of peanuts" or 'this product may contain wheat glutton". Many eliquid manufacturers already label appropriately.

It does seem easy that people on message boards are claiming to know more than those scientists in the FDA labs, because that's not what those scientists were looking at. I think everyone here is judging the safety of the e-Cigarette in comparison to smoking tobacco products, but the only thing those FDA scientists were comparing it to was water; and it's more dangerous than drinking a glass of pure filtered water.

It's like a Timmy being told he's shorter than Charlie and responding by saying, "I'm taller than Billy." That's great and all, but it's just deflecting the issue.

I found a sentence in the article that LadyRaj posted interesting:

"The law doesn't let the FDA ban nicotine or tobacco outright." Then how can government agencies like the FDA go ahead and do "defacto" bans on e-cigs? To me (and I am not politically savvy), this just shows how "over the line" the FDA and the government is in stepping all over our freedoms for their own profit! By the way, I voted Yes...I haven't had any faith in the government since I was 5.
