Has The Vapor Room slid down the hill?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I started vaping. The Vapor Room was on the first vendors I tried (using an eGo type device.) Then, I fell in love with Graham Cracker and other flavors. Everything was right with the world until I fell off the vaping wagon (I just wasn't satisfied with the eGo experience.)

Fast forward to the present.

I'm vaping again and have kicked tobacco for 4 months now (due, in large part, to upgrading to better hardware and sub-ohm vaping.) I remembered how much I enjoyed TVR, so I gave them another try. Nothing crazy. 25PG/75VG blends, 3mg nic. Long story short, the flavors taste like absolute ..... Graham Cracker, Double Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Buttery Popcorn all taste HORRIBLE. Peanut Butter Cookie - which received rave reviews across the board - also tasted like it was filtered through a used gym sock.

At first, I thought it was the switch to sub-ohm, so I got out one of my old eGo devices, a clean atty and fired up a tank. Yup. Same sock-o-rific taste. I turned down the watts, wrapped different coil resistance, closed off air... nada.

So, now I feel like I'm screwed with four 30ml bottles of juice that are barely passable ($60 worth.) This was supposed to be enough to last me a couple of months... now? Blah.

Buyer beware? Other opinions?

Never bought from them, so don't know. But when I finally quit (was a dual user for a couple of years) my taste buds changed so much and the juice I used to like tastes awful. Actually had to switch to 0 flavor for about 10 days and started over.

I don't like the taste of anything sub ohm - even flavorless.

Shame if you hate that much in expensive juice - you can always get a few diy supplies and dilute the juice into something you might like.

Oh, dripping on a sub ohm with some juices is just incredible. Lindbergh "Air Mail", OMG! Fa-Q juices are always good. The thing with TVR is that the flavor is SO different than it was before. Even when vaping on some of the same gear I used back then.

Don't have an opinion on TVR but I DID have an awful day vaping today. Even so far as to vape a sample that was the worst flavor I've ever tasted (some kind of melon flavor). AND I managed to get some on my lips and just feel "dirty" and can't get it off !!! ... So I tossed the juice (saved and washed the bottle) ... and drank about a quart of milk to try and get the taste out. I must have been inhaling pure flavor with no base or something ... shoot.

THEN ... I tried 3 other samples from the same vendor. Only one was any good at all ... and it was pretty good ... but still strong. The others I tossed too.

BUT ... I saved the best for last. Based on OVER 700 reviews of the flavor, rather than order a sample, I ordered 100mL. Terrible and strong. I'm thinking MAYBE I can salvage it by diluting it with base. A LOT of base.

I could easily have tossed 40-50 bucks out the window ... and felt just as good and been just as happy LOL.

I had let all the flavors steep for almost 2 weeks too.

Lesson learned: Only buy samples if I haven't tried the flavor before ... and use old washed out coils instead of new ones that may get "stained" with a tainted taste that reminds me of gym socks or something that won't wash off.

I've bought several times, and quite a bit each time, from TVR in the last 6-8 months. Josh & Jess are really friendly, easy to deal with, and have always included a free sample or 2 with my orders. I have about 7 of their e-liquid flavors, and none of them are blah or "sock" tasting, to me anyway.

I had a credit to use from another company & ordered some banana nut bread e-liquid from them a couple weeks ago...100mL because of its reviews. It was more like "yuck" or "pffft" when I got it. I let it steep for about a week, and then tried it again. Better, but was still not real appealing. So I took a new clearo out (with a 1.8 coil in it) from my old stash of stuff, and a new, empty 5mL bottle. I put 4mL of the BNB in it. Then I added 1-2 small drops of vanilla bean eliquid I regularly use, and 1 tiny drop of banana flavoring I'd bought. I shook it real well, and...I loved it! Vaped that little bottle of it all that day. Made a bigger bottle of it just 2 nights ago.

So, don't give up on being able to use what you got that's "nasty" tasting now to you. If you have other blendable eliquids you like, and/or some flavorings...play around with small amounts of it. You may hit upon some great tastes as well!

I get the mixing and all that... thing is, I shouldn't have to do that. Maybe I've just been spoiled by things like Fa-Q and the like. I dunno. I'm learning that local blends (my area vape shop mixes are AWFUL!), mom-and-pop mixes, etc... not really a fan. I think I'll cough up the extra cash for nationally recognized juices.

Oh, I agree with you. Was just pointing out what I did when I got nasty-tasting eliquid, to save it since I didn't want to waste what I spent on it.
