Haus Vape Pen Problem

Hello all. I'm definitely new to vaping, having just purchased my first pen from the local gas station about 4 days ago. It is the Haus starter kit. I'm wondering if anyone else who has bought it has experienced leaking when it gets down to about 1.2ml. I fill it back up and all is well. It is leaking into the mouthpiece.

Hello and welcome to ECF

This can happen due to pressure in the tank as the juice is used and quite a common thing for some of the "cheaper" tanks/kits that you can buy from shops/petrol stations etc.

As you have found out the best way would be to make sure that you don't let your tank get too low on juice and have a good read through the forum here to find a better solution that suits your vaping needs.

A lot of it is trial and error on finding what works for you and there is plenty of great advice and people on here willing to help. Good luck and enjoy

I've heard the tanks that come with it are not the greatest. Could you recommend a good tank that would fit it? I've heard i think it was iclear series works well

I am not familiar with the battery that comes with the Haus starter kit as I am in the UK but just quickly did a google and it looks like it has EGO and 510 threading on the top so you have quite a choice.

Never used the iClear series but I am sure someone who has will reply to you about them. I use the Kanger range. looking at the google battery the Kanger EVODS/T3D/T3S which are ego threading will work on your battery and they are pretty good. These are what I started with, the beauty of these is that you can replace the coil/heads inside with either shop bought ones or you can re-build them yourself to save some money (again this is what I do).

I have moved on to the Kanger EMOW Mega which I love which has 510 threading (screws into the top of your batter not on the outside like the ego threading) assuming your battery does have the 510 threading in it then you can use these as well but get a beauty ring that screws on to the outside ego threading otherwise it will look a bit weird.

Hi Dakota

It could also be some user error going on. A lot of people new to this for some reason do long and hard pulls and that doesn't work well on any clearo - cheap or expensive. If you pull too hard or too long you can break right past the partial vacuum that keeps the liquid in the tank and that will cause it to be sucked right up the vent tube.- and then dump out the bottom causing a leak.

If that's what might be going on try taking several shorter pulls off it in a sequence, instead of one really long draw.

Hello I've heard that from others. I take slow medium draws from it. At first I took long draws but it made a bubbling sound and I realized I should ease up a bit. But it seems as long as i take slow pulls and keep it above 1.2ml it shouldn't cause too much of a problem until i can get a better setup

Yup - that's what can happen. I can never figure it out because for every person who complains that every clearo type tank they have tried all leak and gurgle and just... suck you will find 100 other people who have no problems with them at all. The people that do have a problem I would really like to see how they try and vape off them but - lol - we never do.

Smoking is easy. Vaping involves a bit more technology and there are things that have to be figured out to get the best experience out of it. Welcome to the learning curve! But this is the place to come for help and to ask questions. We've all been there so there are no dumb questions here. Bashing noobies doesn't happen on ECF.

Also I've noticed the liquid that I bought with it (same brand) has a slight chemical taste every now and again. Sometimes I taste mango, sometimes I taste chemicals.

I guess a couple questions are in order: Where are you coming from to vaping? Are you currently a smoker?

The reason I'm asking is your sense of taste can get really messed up from smoking. So that might explain some of it.

Another possibility is you are just figuring out your vaping technique. Depending on how you draw the vapor across your tongue, if you pull in air with the vapor as well, and if you exhale out your nose - all of that can influence what you taste in your liquids.

Smokers especially can go through a real roller coaster period when they being vaping. It can start as tasting wonderful. A few days later they notice other things - like off chemical tastes. Then after a week to a month heir ability to taste anything out of any liquid can go completely dead for a while. It does level out after a short while.
