Hi,Im struggling to quit analogues, and am sick with a bad chest cold. On antibiotics, nasal spray and mucinex. Vaped all day yesterday, no problems, drank fluids etc. Today I started vaping menthol, took e cig to work and ducked into restroom for a few hits when I could. No desire for cigs, but very very congested and had a real tough time coughing up phlegm. Tightness across shoulders n mid back, very uncomfortable. Got home n smoked one analogue n started couhging n spitting up junk immediately,,,whats up with that. Im vaping 50/50 juice. am I better off doing analogue to get this crap out or try to keep vaping? Really confused here. Can anyone help please?

They use PG in some pneumonia treatments

. I would think you could get the junk loosened up better with vaping than smoking. Do you have a family doctor you could call to get some advice over the phone without making an appointment?

Sorry your so sick. I'd think nothing is going to be easier to smoke/vape at this point. You just have to ride it out. I don't know what your Markets are like where your at but Safeway supermarket carries a hot tea called Breath Easy. It helps quite a bit with the congestion and pain. I got sick soon after I quit and this was the only thing that loosened up my chest. That and lots of water. Feel better!

Cigarettes will not help you clear the gunk out of your lungs. If anything, it'll just make things worse! Every time you smoke a cigarette it paralyzes the cilia in your lungs. They are designed to help clear out the gunk and if you smoke, they can't do their job! I suggest that you continue with the antibiotics, nasal spray and Muconex, keep yourself hydrated and vape, but don't smoke!

Thank you for screwing my head back on the right way...cigs are not the way to go. Doing my primitive PG smokeshop stick for now...junk seems to be coming up. Dumb old lady, just dumb.

Work today was hell, getting too old for this but too young to retire.:( Gotta work 5 hrs tomorrow then baby shower right after work...no rest for the wicked.

slightly off topic...dud u see the biography of Ayn Rand? She was a cult fave in high school.

I haven't seen it. I read "Atlas Shrugged" many years ago, though. Stole the book from the library and I still have it today. Not too sure about the movie(s), though.

And we now return you to your regularly scheduled topic!

Glad I could help, chi. Hope you're feeling better soon!

if you are having congestion issues...drink lots of water and take guafinesin, liquid or pill form. Water is a natural expectorant and guafinesin thins your mucus so you can get the gunk out. if you are still smoking, its hard to get the gunk out, b/c just like the earlier poster said, the smoke numbs (and eventually kills) the cilia that move infections out. Water and guafinesin work well also for head colds too. they dont relieve the congestion quickly like decongestants but it helps your body's natural defenses rid the body of the infection. Good luck! and may your vaping be long lasting!

edit: also the menthol could be irritating your lungs...might want to try a less strong liquid =)

Unfortunetly chronic bronchitis is the plague of many smokers, including myself. It may take a while to see any improvements.
