Have come to the conclusion quitting analogs won't be so easy.

I had a HORRIBLE time in the beginning! I would get so mad at myself when I cracked and in turn would just want another cigarette to handle my frustration... One day I just stopped and looked at like these guys are saying- I had cut down MASSIVELY- which for me was something HUGE. (I've tried to quit a billion times..) Once I started appreciating that, it just got easier and easier!

And if it's any consolation- I know where you're coming from with money factor! We's poor folk over here! I started with 2 other models (including the 510) and just the frustration of one not working too great and the other had such a "learning curve" (to me it just became a pain in the rear) that I was probably close to my wits end! Got the VK only a few weeks ago and it has gotten SO much easier! I don't think it's a matter of having to try a bunch more pv's like I did - just gotta give it time and relax some! :) (wish I had gotten it sooner- my life would have gotten easier much sooner and be more $ in my pocket about now!)

So far I think you've done great- just keep up the good work!

This is a journey away from analogs. You are not "quitting" anything. You are not a quitter. You have taken the huge step towards an alternative by already having your PV's and having great success in acknowledging yourself for all the analogs you have NOT smoked since you started vaping.

This is very good advice. Those who succeed, already know that they are on the right path.

Oh, Fortuna - don't beat yourself up!

Even if you can just cut down a little that's a victory.

I myself went from smoking 30+ cigarettes a day and now I'm currently around 3-5 that 90%!!!! BUT it took me a month to get there and it may take me a year to get down to none or maybe it will never happen at all but regardless I know what I've already accomplished is HUGE.

Do I wish I was one of those people who picked up an e-cig and never touched, never even wanted to touch an analog again? OF COURSE - but I'm not one of those people and I'm fine with that. As otter said: count the cigs you haven't smoked instead of the ones you do.

When I first got my e-cig I was still smoking around 12-15 analogues a day and what got me down to an average of 4 was vaping MORE.

In the beginning I made the mistake of mainly just vaping when a craving for an analogue hit but I found it's much better to just vape more as a way to try and prevent the craving from ever happening.

the most important thing you have started using PV.
give it a little more time. later your body and your mind will let you know that PV is so much better experience.

i was mixing analogs and PV for over a month (checking different juices, nic straight and getting used to a new set of habits).
at some point i just turned on the "CIGS ARE BAD FOR YOU" warning in my brain and switched to PV exclusively (over 5 months now).

My wife and I are both working off of anaolgs. I look at it like this...

I am not quitting smoking, I am on an analog cig embargo... Sometimes one just sneaks through the supply lines. I am not trying to deny myself anything, just trying to work my way off the analogs. If that takes a year, so be it, but every analog I avoid with my PV is 7 more minutes I get to spend time with my family.

Thanks so much everyone! It is very encouraging that I'm not alone in this transition. I was beginning to think something was very wrong if I still wanted analogs.

I have a pretty good model for me, I think. It's a VK 808. I'm having a trouble with consistency in vapor production, but I've ordered some PG juice and maybe that will help. The biggest thing for me is to realize there will always be some elements of analog smoking that will never be replicated but that I will actually come to enjoy vaping more and more.

I just tried some of my husband's brand-spanking-new 36 mg cartomizers and I think those do the trick, so I'm definitely upping my nicotine. Since he started vaping today I think I've seen him go outside for an analog maybe once or twice! I don't like the flavors he got though, so I'll have to order my own.

I hadn't smoked an analog in 2-3 hours and just went outside to have one. This time of the evening, after putting kids to bed, I usually smoke 2 or 3 in a row outside. I had one, it was marginally satisfying, but actually preferred to come in and start vaping on my yummy carto.

Anyway, thanks so much for the pep talks. :) It gives me hope that several of you were able to gradually decrease the analogs and that some day analogs will no longer appeal to me.

Thats my sentiments exactly. I find my PV taste much better, and actually look forward to it. I began to really put a bit of effort into reducing my analogs when I had a VERY stressful evening and went out to the garage for an analog... It honestly tasted like I had licked a landscaper's shoe sole. I felt like a dear old friend had betrayed me!
I had stopped using my original model e-cig due to frustrations with the device. I grabbed it, filled a cart, and vaped away.
Knowing that I was unhappy with the model I had I hit ECF and started reading.

My new PV is awsome... I am totaly loving it, which is making my analog embargo much easier. I am not 100% off analogs, but from a full Pack + a day down to 1-3 a day, with only marginal effort is a great accomplishment for me. I have set a goal of 1 April to be 100% off analogs. If I hit that date great, if not I should be awfully close.

Enjoy you vaping!:)

Hi,

I think you should be gentle with yourself. One thing that I think is psychologically helpful, is to realize that nothing that you vape will ever taste exactly the same as your cigarettes. I think that if you can accept that, and realize that it's just going to be "different" from now on, you may be able to ease into this change a little smoother.

Good luck to you!
