I am so new to vaping that I haven't even tried it yet :)

I want to attempt to stop (or slow down) a 2-pack per day Marlboro Red habit that I have had for the past 40 years.

Before I order some E-cig parts on the internet, I thought I would ask you good folks if the e-cig stuff I am ready to order would last me all day long. Obviously, I would be re-charging the battery before I go to bed at night.

The battery I am thinking of buying is a 900 mAh 'Vision Spinner VV Ego' adjustable voltage model.

The Clearomizer will be a 2.4 ml 'Kanger T2' that has a 2.4 ohm coil.
________________________________________

I am retired now, so I find all the time I need to smoke. And like I said, I smoke 2 packs a day of full strength cigarettes ... I plan on starting out with 24 mg nicotine E-juice.

1. Do you think the 900 mAh battery will last me all day until I go to bed?

2. Do you think the 2.4 ml Clearomizer will last all day without re-filling?

3. Lastly, about how many hours do you think the battery will need to fully charge using a standard joyetech 'eGo' Fast Charger rated at 4.2v / 420 mA?

Thanks a bunch for any answers you could provide,

Sounds like you are well on your way! I have an eGo VV2 it is a digital voltage adjust instead of twist but the same effect. I found that I liked a 2.4 ohm coil over the usual 1.8 that most come with. 24 mg was my sweet spot. I smoked full flavor 100's for over 20 years and needed that extra kick in the pants for my taste. All I can say is good luck on your journey and a very welcome to ECF. There is a huge following out here and if the answer can be found, you will find it here! Keep after it and VAPE ON MY FRIEND!

1. Possibly not.

2. Definitely not.

A 1,300 Spinner is a close call for me. A 2.4ml would see me through though. (just...)

I don't have specifically that setup, but that battery should last you all day. I would recommend a second clearo, especially when you first start. Partly to have a second flavor and partly because a lot of us go through 3-5 ml a day, especially since you're used to smoking all the time, not just certain hours like a person would who can't smoke at work.

1. Do you think the 900 mAh battery will last me all day until I go to bed?

Depends on how much you use it. If you chain vape all day, you may need 2 of those to last you all day.

2. Do you think the 2.4 ml Clearomizer will last all day without re-filling?

Again, depends how much you use it, and how efficient your tank is. 2.4ml is not very much, and some would go through that within hours.

3. Lastly, about how many hours do you think the battery will need to fully charge using a standard Joyetech 'eGo' Fast Charger rated at 4.2v / 420 mA?

900mAh battery would take between 3-4 hours to charge from dead to full.

In relation to charging.

You would think a 420mAh battery would charge in 1 hour with a 420 charger. That would require 100% charging efficiency.

I tend to "hope" for better than 80%, but haven't worked it out.

I don't have 900s, but my guess would be under 2-3 hours. (A battery is not often that low....)

.. and if it was.... then 3-4 hrs (as above) :)

I don't think anyone can give you a straight forward answer because we don't know how often you will be vaping because you haven't tried it yet. I tend to fill mine up twice a day but never more than that. I recommend 24 mg of nicotine until you can gradually work your way down if you want to. You may start out with a flavor you're not crazy about meaning it may last you all day. Are you planning to completely quit smoking cigarettes once you start vaping ? I vape a lot but my battery lasts all day long and I charge at night but turn it off once its charged. The important thing to me personally is flavor so if flavor is a big thing for you try something you know you'll like. Your senses will be changing taste & smell so if you don't like a certain flavor keep it because you may enjoy it later on. Sorry I wasn't a big help

Thanks for the fast replies ... I plan on buying maybe 3 of the T2 Clearomizers along with a couple of 5-pack replacement coil/wick cartridges.

I have read that these cheap coils usually don't last all that long.

BTW ... How long do you think your average coil will last if subjected to daily use like I would be doing? ... a month?

I have no idea if those will last you all day. For me it would easily last me all day.
My advice would be an extra battery just in case. And as extra tank just in case.
If you do end up vaping a lot an extra battery would give me peace of mind.
Never know when your equipment might decide it just aint working today.
Having extras of everything will head off that my stuff just broke so I better go buy a pack of smokes situation.

At 24mg, you should get most of a day from that battery with a T2 - they don't burn up liquid too quickly, and 24mg will satisfy your cravings with just a few puffs hopefully. I started there myself and it worked well without constantly puffing. The battery will take about three to four hours to charge.

Whether this setup lasts all day or not, it is important to have backups should something go south. I always have a spare battery and small bottle of liquid with me, just in case. Even a basic Ego battery will be useful as a backup. The biggest temptation to smoke will be when your setup isn't working or available, so it's good to be prepared.

Good luck with the switch!

Ron,

So far in close to three weeks I have not had a coil fail. I do clean them about every other day.
I did get one clearo with a bad coil from the get go.

You were a big help ... I guess I will be vaping just about as much as I now smoke with a 2-pack per day habit.

Initially I will more than likely be smoking in conjuction with vaping, but I really would like to stop the cigarettes completely if I find enough will power.

As far as flavor ... I guess just getting the 'nicotine fix' right now is most important to me. Taste is secondary.

that would depend on the "juice" some that are darker and have more "sweetness" to them can gunk up a coil real fast, but if you clean them frequently the coil should last quite a while (difficult to remember how long as I recoil my kanger PT2 heads) I tend to stay to the lighter colored juice and tabacco flavors staying away from the fruity sweet ones (that's just me)
if cleaned often a month is possible but three weeks is a reasonable expectation. the heavier, darker, sweeter flavors will gunk up quicker and once burnt the coil/wick is done, needs to be replaced or reworked.

I started with a 900 mAh. One battery would last a full day on a work day, vaping only on breaks, to and from work and the few hours I'd be awake otherwise. I HIGHLY suggest at least 2 batteries. Not because of how long they last, but you will need a back up. Period. One tank probably would last a day, BUT I ended up with several. I like a variety of flavors. Days off, I vaped a LOT. Still do. One battery wasn't enough.

7 months later, I have a 2600 mAh battery. It's the iTaste MVP 2.0. I get 2 days at the very least from it. I still have my 1st 900 mAh for running around, but is my back up at home. For tanks I have a Protank 2, which holds 2.5 to 3 mls and a Protank mini 2. I use the mini at work, and fill it usually twice a day. The bigger one........ depends on the day. Days off, I definitely fill more frequently.

I smoked full flavor menthol, usually 30 cigs a day, give or take. 18mg was a decent starting point for me, but went to 24 mg for a short time. I'm now between 12 and 16 mg. I used menthol liquids very briefly. I prefer somewhat sweet, dessert type flavors over tobacco or menthol flavors.

As Mrs. Pressley said, it's going to be a little different for everyone as far as how long a battery will last you and how much you'll actually vape. Especially if you only want to cut down. If you like vaping, chances are you'll quit smoking. Accidentally, lol. I did!

Ron,

Those t2 coils can last months if you clean them well every couple refills
