Have you ever gone into a vapor store and made a "Pity" buy?

We have a local shop that just expanded into a second shop in a nearby city but the prices are still a little high for me. For juice, the pricing is decent, but the mods (clones and originals) are just too high for me because I know what they go for online. It's not a stab at them by far because being small, and I know from experience, you normally pay more than a dealer that sells 4-8x both online and off.

Just an example, I'll use the EHPro kayfun Lite. I just picked on up online for $50, normally $58. The same one is $85 + tax in the local shop. Picked up a Nemesis Clone by hcigar for $41 shipped, it's $69 + tax in the shop. Again, not a stab at them, I wish them all the best and I truly hope that as they grow their pricing comes down and when it does, they'll get all my business because I won't have a need to shop online.

As for pity buys - none for me really. If I'm going, I'll go for a reason. I have most of what I need and everything else gets ordered online. Hopefully that'll change in the not-to-distant future.

Haha, turns out she has a boyfriend... who works there..... And mixes some killer juice :vapor:. Win,Win. Still get to flirt with the staff every time.
The owners are old awesome people and everyone they employee is 20-25, quite a few fine young ladies :).. Trying to get my buddy into vaping and possibly a date.. Wing man of the year much.

So far I have been to the 4 vape shops I know of around here, bought liquid from 3 of them. Madvapes is one of them and they are my regular supplier of liquid considering the other 3 sell Murikan made liquid for $7-10 per 10ml bottle and Madvapes sells 50ML for $14. The one I have yet to buy from sells Ego's and liquid... That is it... And all of it is way overpriced, I am talking $80 for an Ego starter and $15-20 for 10ml.

Good to see you have a sense of humor and like "old awesome people"! I remember being your age, had just gotten out of the service, didn't have a steady girl and was feeling sorry for myself. Then I saw a guy with no arms, changed my perception of how bad I had it.:)

I walked into a new store.....Out of juice and down to my last carto....

The Lady behind the counter was super friendly, helpfull and easy on the eye....Kept handing me whatever my eye landed on and kept giving me new flavors to try at the bar.

I went in there thinking I'd spend 20 bucks.....total was 54.

I'll go back. Taking cash this time though!

Only if I want the shop to stay open.
Battery explosions seem to give us a bad name, so if they don't know at least a little bit of battery safety, I won't buy anything. One shop only had gray batteries with absolutely no labels on them, so I asked if they were high drain or not... They didn't know, but they did know they were only $8.95. I asked if they had any cases, they said nope, but you can put them in your ego case.
No purchase made.

No! I'm allergic to PG and all of them sell 70/30 PG/VG chinese juices, and I don't use overpriced chinese eGo clone batteries or CE4 clearomizers, and since that is ALL they sell, every single one of them, I _never_ go into one of them. The B&M over here need to _wake up_ </end rant>

Sorry, I feel better now :)

We just got our first vape B&M here locally a few weeks ago. They've been around on the Internet selling juices for almost a year I think (juicemafia.com). I don't make "pity" buys there though. I do buy stuff I don't necessarily need I guess but if I can drop a few bucks in their pockets, I'm going to do it. The owners are great people and their juice is really, really good, high quality stuff. It's kinda neat to go in there and order some juice and they go back and make it on the spot. They've got a decent following locally, much bigger on the web though. This area is really far behind the trends though so it's not shocking at all. If they keep up with what they're doing though, they'll do well, they're just that kind of people :)

I have. I kinda like a couple of the B&Ms near me, but they don't really sell what I need. I don't need to buy any more mods and I diy my juice, but I like to go in and check out the new gear and socialize. I figure if they keep seeing me come in they might start carrying modding and diy supplies. I wind up buying kanthal or drip tips a lot of the time. Probably get some juice tonight as I don't have anything that's done steeping yet and my current base doesn't have that smokey flavor I'm used to

I missed a whole summer of no late at night in the am's gas station analog buy and viewing some skirts. I used to see all kinds of good and bad when to do that occasionally. Now I have almost 6 month supply of vape and never see anything round here late at night cept for ghost and raccoon..

Yep, juice, always buy the juice or a connector or mesh.

I don't think I've ever been to a dedicated vape b&m and not bought anything. I'll at least buy some juice or a drip tip. Now, I have been to tobacco shops or ecig sellers at flea markets who have overpriced crap and not bought anything. I will not buy anything from a mall kiosk, even if they have decent stuff. I've never seen stuff at a mall kiosk that wasn't insanely overpriced.

Currently there is only one dedicated B & M vape shop that I know of in my city. It's not often I go there because the convenience and prices make shopping online a better deal for me. When I visit the vape shop I usually buy something small even though I really don't need it or could do better online. They do carry my favorite NiteLite Vapor Juices there for a dollar or two over what I could buy online at pvliquids.com and I have bought a few of those at the vape shop and I bought a lanyard one time. I feel it's nice to have their presence in our community as a way to support smoking cessation. They are invested in a risky business as evolving federal, state or even local laws could force them to close or drastically reduce there best efforts to stay successful.
