I'm trying to transition from cigs to ecig. I smoke about 4-8 ultralights a day and I can't get the same satisfaction from my ecig. I purchased a starter kit from smokeless image, a volt w/ the "country" e-liquid at 12mg medium. Considering I smoked ultralights, I assumed the 12mg would work fine. Also of note, I started out with the "555" at 6mg and upgraded to the "Country" 12mg for this reason.

Is this just something I need to get used to or does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

try upping it to 18mg. Nicotine through vapor doesnt absorb into the bloodstream as fast as burning leaves does. The volt should give you a nice consistent vape through the day but many people report greater sucess in kicking analogs with a slightly higher dosage than recommended.

You can always taper off slowly when youre completely off cigarettes

I started at 12 as well and found it did not hold me. My next order, I went to 18 and that seems to be my spot for now. However, first thing in the morning and after meals, I have to hit on some 24 to stop the itch for an analog. Having the 24 on hand enabled me to completely ditch the stinkies. I'm almost at the 3 week mark, but I have to be vigilant. I still get the cravings.

Try getting a small bottle of 18 and see if that will get you over the humps.

Vaping works for some, not for others I hate to say. Some people will tell you to get a Provari, some will tell you to get an eRoll. I have seen a lot of people on here saying they are very happy with their Volts. Sounds like you have a good starter. You might want to up your juice to 24mg and mosey away from the tobacco flavors. Get the small bottles or sampler packs. You might find your sweet spot somewhere in there, write down the flavors you like so you don't forget on the next order. Don't forget, vaping is different from smoking. Your lungs do not absorb the nicotine, your nose and mouth do, hold the vapor in your mouth and exhale out your nose and mouth. Primer (quick) puffs help too. It takes a bit longer for the nicotine to get into your system when you vape. Yes, this is something you have to get used to.

darn it. I am long winded and a slow typer.

I smoked +/- 2 packs a day of 100's. I started vaping with 18 mg. I haven't had a cigarette since and honestly I haven't craved one. The only times its vaguely crossed my mind to light up are the "routine" smokes; like at work when I get a call, it was always my habit to light one as soon as I said 10-4.

i felt the same way for about a week. for me, determination is key, though. a month in and the cravings still creep up on me every once and a while, but they subside relatively quickly. i just say to myself i am saving money and feeling better every day, usually that works. i am starting to detest the smell of secondhand and its getting easier. i vape 24mg during the day, and am starting to vape 18mg at night, so i dont go to bed restless. all i can tell you is keep at it and itll get easier

The kind device you're using has a lot to do with the quality of the vape as well as the state of the atomizer. Troubleshooting a less than satisfactory vape can be a challenge at times.

Have you ever been satisfied with the vape of your device? If not then you may consider trying another. Could a different e liquid be the answer? If you have been satisfied by your device then is your atomizer and battery in good clean working order?

Its also important to remember that its not JUST the nicotine your body is craving from the cigs, its also the other fifteen trillion chemicals they put into them. When I quit smoking (2 pack a day menthol) I went straight for 24mgs, which I'm still on, and have no plan to get off of, I still craved cigarettes for about a week or two. Its just your bodies reaction to not having everything else that you normally get from a cigarette and instead just being supplied with nicotine.

Stay strong and after the first week or two the ecig should be all you ever want.

I smoked drum rolling tobacco because it felt cleaner to me and my withdrawal symptoms were notably less than people I observed. In fact, i had no withdrawel symptoms aside from mild heartburn and light headed spells. This is far from being scientific but I do believe there are other things in manufactured cigarettes which are additives and produce symptoms.

I gave up manufactured cigarettes for roll- your-own like 10 years ago because they caused my throat to swell up. It was the same reason I gave up smoking weed. Never figured out why it happened.

It's funny, but the advice on trying something other than tobacco flavors may be what you need. It seems to be for me anyway. I smoked cigars for years (and cigs before that) and I inhaled the darn things. So when I got my kit I picked cuban as my flavor and a few other just to try. My original bottle of cuban is about 3/4 full. I've gone through 2 larger bottles of one of the samples I picked and start planning to make my own of that flavor.

I think you'll find your tastes will change as your taste buds get back into action. :)

Stick with it. It does get easier. This place will help.
