Having the worst luck

So as I posted earlier this week, the Aspire BDC did not work for me so I went and bought what I originally wanted which was the nautilus Mini. The first day it worked fine... wait... while I was in the store and the clerk was testing it, it worked fine. I seem to be getting a LOT of snap, crackle and pop from this baby. I have it paired with the iTaste vv 3v and at 6.6 watts. I have tried every airflow size on it and i still get the same. What in the world can I be doing wrong?

I have to say that after only vaping for a little over a week, I am frustrated with all of the different setups that I ALREADY have and none of them seem to work well for more than a few hours to 2 days at most. I just don't want to smoke cigarettes anymore so I am trying to hang in there. but.....

I would have the same problem with my Kangers from time to time. Maybe switching out the coil woudl help?

Also, what juice are you vaping? I've found that thicker juice seems to give me more pop when I start vaping. Once everything "warms" up it's fine, but those first few pulls sizzle and pop like crazy.

I have barely used it because it has been popping from the beginning. Right now I am vaping a blueberry pomegranate and its not as thick as some that I have.

I guess I'll just keep trying. Smoking cigs is not an option

Turn it up. On the Itaste vv you have settings for Voltage AND wattage. Make sure your Volts are around 3.6 and the Watts are around 9.0 - 10. The new BVC coils need a little more power to get a good vape. If you still aren't getting vapor turn it up a little more. If you still not getting vapor try a new coil, then different juice, clean the mini to make sure the air holes are not clogged. If you are still not getting vapor try the tank on someone elses mod. Don't give up! Keep trying till you get what you want. The beginning switch to vaping can be expensive and time consuming, and can also have a steep learning curve. Some take to it quicker than others. Be patient and you'll get your perfect vape soon!

Edit: I guess I misunderstood your post, your problem is that the coil is making snaps and pops? That is normal for any coil burning juice.

Can the Mini take that much power? I'll give it a try. Right now I have it turned down low because I thought it was popping because it was too high (face palm)

You are right, if you turn it down you will get less popping, keep the volts around 3.6 and the watts down to about 7 or 8 you should get less popping. I misunderstood your post and thought you were getting small vapor.

The iTaste VV is a Variable Voltage OR a Variable Wattage device,
you can either set the voltage or the wattage, but they are independent of each other.

Popping is normal, for a clearomizer like that, you generally want 7-10 watts at the most (or 3.8-4.1 volts, assuming a 1.8ohm coil for the nautilus). If it tastes a little burnt then reduce the settings or failing that try a 'thinner' eliquid (higher PG to VG ratio) as thicker eliquids can 'gunk' up the coils and prevent wicking in Bottom coil devices such as the nautilus.

My Nautilus pops at first but then calms down after a while. If you are getting juice in your mouth try a different drip tip, or put a little piece of tissue (not too much so it doesn't block the vapor) inside the drip tip, this will block any flying juice from getting in your mouth. change out the tissue once in a while because it will get wet with juice.

Are you sure you are in Power mode? I ask because the VV can adjust the voltage in 0.1 increments and wattage in 0.5 increments. To me 6.6 sounds more like voltage, and that is little higher than what the VV is capable of in voltage mode. When I used a dual coil setup I turned down the wattage or voltage dependent on the battery I used. What does your screen show, a "U" or "P", the "U" is voltage and the "P" is power/wattage. Also remember you cannot control both at the same time meaning, in Voltage mode the VV will adjust the wattage for you, and in Wattage mode the VV adjusts the voltage accordingly. Many people seem to be confused my this with the VV and MVP, they simply remember your last setting in that mode.

How heavy do you vape, what are your different setups that you've tried and aren't satisfied with? Many helpful people here and you will get a ton of advise.
If you vape a lot you may go through coils frequently, snap crackle and pop is not the worst especially if the flavor comes through and doesn't taste burnt. I look at this way (I mostly use Kanger products) at $1-$3 for a coil per day or two, it is a heck of a lot cheaper than stink sticks. I recently started re-building my Kanger coils and switched to cotton, very happy with what I got going now.

Stick with it, ask for help and vape on!

Good explanation, geekmedic! I need to look and see if there is a sticky somewhere on VV/VW mods, and if there isn't, I think there should be. I've seen more than a few posts where someone references setting voltage to X and Wattage to Y... that's just not possible in any way, shape or form...

It is possible because you can set both and use whichever you want. I think it's best to have them both set and then can switch easily depending on what atomizer you are using.
