So ive been using ecigs for about 3-4 months now. i would go though like a pack a day before.

I started off with a kanger evod kit. i loved it. and my girlfriend started on it in the past month. so while i was in one of the stores to help pick one out for her i saw the Itaste vv. and i fell in love once i got to try it. so of course i scrounged some money to get it. my problem now is that i have 2 evod batteries and 4 of the ego evod tanks they come with. I noticed a higher voltage setting on the Itaste can give a burnt taste. so i turned it back down to a 3.6V. i did enjoy the first few hits at a 4.6V it was smooth. and creamy. what tanks or clearomizers work better with a high voltage setting?

in like 10 days i was debating on picking up a few better like the Kanger pro mini's. but i dont know much about the better quality tanks at this time.

I noticed my fruit flavors like berry blast, a apple strawberry mix, and my mango apple miz. taste better and smoother at a higher voltage for me.

thanks for any help. i tried to explain my best ^^

Everything I say is based on my experience, but I very recently went through the process you're now going through. This is what I tried

Kanger Evod : Good taste, slightly warm vapor, ok vapor, leaking issues with high VG juice

Kanger Protank 1 : Little less taste then Evod, very little warmth in vapor, airy draw, better vapor, leaking issues with high VG juice and burnt taste after anywhere from 1 to 3 days ( Bad Head I Guess )

IClear 16 : Best flavor of anything I tried, warm vapor, tight draw, same vapor / sometimes better then the above, less leaking issues in comparison to above, burnt taste if I pushed the voltage above comfort zone

IClear 30 : Similar to the 16, but I had many more leaking problems and has a cooler vape

Ego Dripping Atomizer : Nice vapor, flavor, but not as much flavor as IClear 16

Igo L RDA : Drilled out the hole with 5/64 drill bit. Pretty good flavor, ok vapor temp, really nice vapor production, just something not quite right. You have to wrap your own coils as well.

Trident RDA : Insane amount of vapor, but you give up flavor and the vapor is cool. You have to wrap your own coil.

I hope that helps. My main point is that you shouldn't necessarily trust all of the praise the Kanger Protank gets. Some times a cheap clearomizer like the iClear 16 works very well.

@notwithnsa thanks for the detailed information.

The I clear 16 one of the shops that opened up closer to my town...the wicks are coated in like a gel now :/ ive leaned more on the kangers pro mini and evod because of the bottom coil. i dont like the long wicks. but. its an experience i had in this shop. he didnt maintain everything properly. and nothing tasted right. it looks like itd need additional care.

and atm i have had one leak when i first got it. the coil just was bad. replaced. and it was perfect.

I'll try an Iclear as i see some people say theyre great. ill try to keep an open mind. but like i said. a bad experience for the eyes and taste kinda ruined that for me ^^;;

I agree that the iClears get nasty if they sit around. I always keep them filled and then clean them every week or two. Try a bunch because everyone is different. I'm just not a big believer in the most expensive option is necessarily better.

Hmmm I just received a fresh order of iClear 16 heads yesterday and I don't notice any "gel" on the wicks.
Fastech sells these for around $1.27 apiece and nothing I've found (including my neighbors ProTank II) matches them in flavor.

what i had meant was the shop samples. werent maintained. after the fluid sat in for a bit. the wicks became coated in a gel like coating from the fluids. even his main one...it was just very discouraging.

the pro tank mini's id get for like 17 a piece not bad since i want 2. i only know about them from the shop and being able to handle the volts i want without burning the tank.

The SmokTech Aro is a nice competitor to the PT2 Mini and Evod. It's a pyrex tank wrapped in a metal sleeve, similar to the Evod. It has a metal rather than plastic drip tip. It doesn't take the Evod heads.

However, the performance has been fantastic. Every bit as good, if not better than that of the Evod. It never leaks and I've never had the first hint of a burnt taste.

The coil heads seem to last longer, too. I bought a five-pack of heads with the unit about a month ago, and the first one is still going as if it were brand new.

Gotcha. But not really a "gel", just the wicks holding on to the juice. Couple passes under warm water and they're like new again.
Kanger def makes a nice product, just hits too "airy" for me.
Check eBay's Mini prices out. You can find V2's there for around 12 bucks with free shipping.

Any of these can work Great or be horrible depending on the person using them and their ability to adapt and tweak.

Panther - The only advice that I can give you here is just find a sweet spot that you like, with your setup. If you want to run higher voltage, you may want to think about using a different resistance atty. I'm a fanboy of 1.8 or thereabout and I sit around 3.8 or 3.7 depending on the Juice. The Juice you use also has an effect on the vape itself. If you find that you need to run 4.0V on a 1.8 resistance and it doesn't taste burnt, do it :). To each their own.

I like using the Vivi Nova setup personally. I know most people aren't the fondest of the top coil devices, but they work for me. you can compare them to the Protank II for a top/bottom fed device and they are reasonable on pricing. Dabble, experiment, and have fun. Congrats on kicking the habit to you and your girlfriend.

I have to say I agree with this 1,000%. I bought one for $6.00 about a week ago. I'm so impressed I bought two more last night, and my wife wants one badly. These things are amazing!

Remember, if you are using a higher level of VG in your juices, you will need to remove at least one of the wicks that rest on top of the coil head of either the EVOD or the Protank. I use a 50/50 blend and remove one of the flavor wicks. If you are using a higher PG blend, then perhaps try out any of the above suggestions. Burnt hits on the Protank are either from a fried/dirty coil, or a dry/unsaturated coil. Removing one of the wicks made a world of difference in my vape quality.
