Having trouble taking apart my iClear 30

I was going to change the coil heads in my daughter's iClear 3o tanks yesterday. One came apart easily. The second one I couldn't budge even with a pair of pliers. If I had two pliers I likely could have gotten it, but I didn't.

Yeah I grabbed the bottom metal part with pliers, but I didn't want to use pliers and the glass part. I was afraid I would end up cracking or breaking it.

I've been having this problem with several types and brands of clearomizers. Wondering if it might be worth starting a new more general thread to ask for ideas on preventing this from happening and/or whether there is any lubricant that would help. I have serious hand problems and this is turning into a major problem for me, to the point of making vaping a no go.
