having trouble

I have been watching ithaka videos all day and still can't get this to work. I also think I have attached too many parts from the gg. If someone could point me to an easy tutorial, I would be very happier. I am sure it is something I am doing that is very stupid.

For starters you can attach it to GGTS much easier than what you have pictured. Remove your adjustable draw cap from your collector tank and remove the air control base from Ithaka. Ithaka will screw directly onto your collector tank, making for a much more solid connection.

I agree. Your Ithaka pin is not making contact with this set up in your pic.

that is what i assumed but can't seem to make that work. here are my parts.

Okay, take the adapter off of your GGTS connector, put your air control ring back on the collector tank, remove the brass adjustable pin from Ithaka and screw ithaka right into your collector tank. Looks like the biggest problem is the adapter that is on your GGTS connector, that's not needed to attach Ithaka and is getting in the way. Here, I circled the adapter I'm talkign about in red in the pic, just in case I'm not being clear or you're not sure which part I'm talking about:

You could leave the adjustable pin piece on Ithaka, but by removing it you'll save a couple mm of overall length, it's not really needed when using the native GGTS connection (but you can leave it on if you really want to).

That's correct, pin-to-pin contact is what you'll have between the GGTS pin and the Ithaka center pin. The outer threads on the Ithaka thread into the threads on the collector tank. Let me go take a couple pics to demonstrate, I'll be back in a few minutes . . .

Okay, here are the parts separate

Here is just the Ithaka and collector tank. You can see the threads inside the collector tank where the Ithaka will screw in

And after screwing in Ithaka

Once Ithaka is in there its center pin will be up against the GGTS connector's center pin

Tell us how you are building your wire in the Ithaka. Are you using prebuilt NR-R-NR wire or joining NR/R wires?

rcvd wires ,20 wire and basic wicks. followed all videos on wicks and wires. single and double. what is easiest?

From your reply, I assume that your error is that you have been using only resistance wire and no non-resistance wire. As with most GG attys, you need to join non-resistance wire to both end (or just positive end) of the resistance wire. Here is a Bishopheals vid...

To get by, you can double up the part of the wires that goes down both sides of the channels on the side, and just leave the top single.

Make sure your wires are attached correctly. Several of us who already had previous experience with Ody and Penelope still did them backward on our first try, even after watching the videos (myself included) Make sure the wire under the plastic nut is the one going down the metal channel, the one down the ceramic channel goes around the center post. If you do it backward you will essentially be creating a dead short and the coil won't fire
