Hcigar DNA vt40 female 510 connector wearing out

Just an FYI to member. My new dna device has had a few issues since first recieving it. One of them was the threading of atty's at the female 510 connector. It seemed a little rough from the very beginning when swapping attomizers. I however wanted to use the new device and continues to do so. . So I was careful on threading all atty's, aware of such things as cross threading ect.(since my days as mech.tech/machinist). Well the connector failed last night with my first trial of the Aspire Atlantis ll.. I was bumbed to say the least. Anyways alls good for now. I will just have wait till I get the warranty return completed with either MVP or hcigar.
PS. I still do like this product very much!

Im guessing you mean MVS. If so youre lucky its from them aslong as its within their 14 day warranty. Most sites only cover DOA, MVS actually helps customers tgey swapped an IPV Mini2 for me because of 510 issuses, granted the 1 they sent me wasnt much better, but that isnt on then. I like using them because ive had gear issues and double orders from other sites who wouldnt even take the return, even though it was their fault.

Yep.. Im with you there. Also contacted hcigar and evolv. So the deal is if it was advertised as having a hardened connector. It is proven not to be he case in my eyes. It would seem to be aluminum.

Well see... It looks to be brass coated or something of that nature.i hope evolv steps up and wants to work with me as to finding a solution. Or others will have same issue and device fails customer needs. I'm hoping we don't go there because it's very appealing and has great potential.

This adapter from Eleaf is made for the iStick mod but suitable for most any 510 mod / ecig. The 510 - Ego adapter does have a base ring with a diameter of approx 16.5mm with knurled edging making it easier to screw and unscrew to your device.

This came with my Ismoka Eleaf istick mod. This adapter was shipped with my istick which has stainless steel harden threads to guard against wear. Ismoka Eleaf realize that when two metal surfaces work against each other in screwing back and forth, the softer metal will be worn. Hence, a loose thread (created from metal degrading through wear) equals no contact/firing of topper.
The above adapter used is a sacrificial goat to prevent a mods female threads from being worn through constant use.
The Ismoka Eleaf 510 - Ego Adapter I use, is a brass base material coated with decorative thin chrome no wear resistant plating.
Cons:
1. Adds height to your mod. However, the flip side is I can get my fat fingers on my RDA Magma bottom casing and quickly unscrew the cap if I wish to.
2. The design of the Ismoka Eleaf 510 - Ego Adapter has a non adjustable center pin.
Bad forethought of design.
I would of gladly paid a little more money if I could of ordered the Ismoka Eleaf 510 - Ego Adapter with an adjustable 510 to 510 center pin. Oh well, companies today are " special people" and we all know companies are not perfect.
Having the knurled knob makes up for no adjustment capabilities. It would have been nice to have both features.

If your a machinist then you can probably change the 510. I use varitube 510's they are under 5 bucks and work great.

Thanks, brother bob and Rod for your reply. I will see what hcigar and evolv have to say. I was under the impression it was stated as a brass connector. I think I will try and hold them to that and see where it goes, of course It doesnt hurt to be a step ahead. The fact is it's not a month old. And I no longer work in the same field. I will be letting everyone know here in the near future.

It has a 1yr. Warranty according hcigar. But.. and that's a big one.. Who's to say it isn't corrected and they send me another with same issue.. Right!

Yah it could happen. I have been a customer of them for a few years or Vape Royality however you see them and they have come a long way. I think you will get it sorted out ok with a year warranty I did not know it came with one that long this is pretty awesome.

It's worrying that you see a brass colour on the thread, loved the look of this device and reviewers have said it was a stainless steel thread. My experience of brass coated 510's is they wear out in 2 months or less

You got it 100%.Brass color over softer metal than the subtank airflow base. Just worn out 1st Month use, because I tend to switch atty's often. I use the kanger nano's because their easier to finish. However I may want to try some new juice(s) I recieved in the mail. Thanks Kahling
