Purchased a turtle ship clone and was so excited to use it with my hcigar kraken which works flawlessly must I say, so anyways I get it set up, put the battery in (18650) flat top and it has the most battery rattle I've ever heard in my life. I'm sure my neighbors could hear it lol. Well once I noticed this, I could not stop focusing on it and tried to adjust the delrin ring to eliminate the rattle and it was not happening. I'm not the type of person that's ok with buying a flawed product and making my own parts, fitments, etc so I returned the damn thing and ordered an hcigar carvela which I already own but now in brass. I've had the caravela for 2 months now no promblems at all!!!! I even put the magnetic switch upgrade from fatdaddyvapes and boy this thing feels solid as a rock. Also all the batteries I've been putting in the vela fit perfect. What a disappointment that was. For some reason the turtleship v2 did not feel anywhere as solid as the vela did and that was pretty shocking being that both are hcigar products. It felt almost as if the turtleship was made of aluminum rather than SS. Just my 2 cents to anyone who may be shipping for a clone. Hope I can save you the hassle that I went through!

Happy vaping!

Umm, don't blame Hcigar, the real thing rattles too.

I don't blame hcigar. just my experience. I never actually held a authentic turtleship but i realize it is 1:1 scale
I happen to be very satisfied with there products except the turtleship lol. Recently purchased hcigar kraken and wow this thing is a monster! i thought i would conserve juice but im using more than my nimbus out of convenience.

I agree there. I've got a Nemesis, 69, and Kayfun 3.1 from them. Will be buying a Trident clone tomorrow.

The problem with the Turtleship is the design. If they had simply use a little taller and more sturdy delrin ring there wouldn't be a problem. It's too flimsy and wobbles around, even in the authentic ones. I've heard of people fixing it by using nylon washers as shims underneath the delrin ring.

Then again, as I said, I've got a 69 mod as well, and they don't have the greatest of buttons either. The problem with a 1:1 clone is if there is a design flaw in the original it tranfers over to the clone. These are two mods that Hcigar could easily fix, resulting in clones that would be better than the originals.

Wow you couldn't of said any of that any better! How you described the turtle ship delrin issue is exactly what I was fussing with all night while I angrily chained vaped on my vela with kraken lol. Like I said I know I could have fixed it but I don't agree with the consumer having to fix a flawed product that a company is ok with releasing...what a shame. Do these companies lack integrity or is it just stupidity? And again no blame on hcigar!

I will answer that by pointing out one little fact.

These authentic mod makers are charging $175+ for a hollow metal tube and two threaded caps. Any decent machinist could throw one together in under an hour for less than $5. The only difference between a $10 metal Maglite and a $200 mech mod is the threading in the cap and the Maglite toggle button which is actually more complicated than the mech mod.

I really don't like supporting Chinese products but when the price difference is that marginal, how can you not? Man, if I had the proper equipment at my disposal I would be more than willing to learn how to make mods or better yet a machinist ;D
To bad there aren't any cheap American mech mods or at lease not to my knowledge... I just cannot justify paying 175$+ for a flashlight tube.

Very we'll said sir!

Fortunately, I happen to know a master gunsmith. If I come up with a good design I'm certain he will custom make me a mech mod. He's been a close friend of the family almost as long as I've been alive. Perhaps do a sheathed tube with a pure copper inner layer and stainless steel outer layer. Solid silver connection pins, solid silver 510 connector inset into a silver plated copper cap.

I just need to sit down and CAD one out and pay for the raw materials. Knowing him he would probably think it was a ridiculous looking flashlight that didn't stay on. He has no idea how much a hand crafted mod like that would be worth.
