HCigar VT167 had a meltdown - Evolv (DNA) Came to the Rescue! • r/electronic_cigarette

TL;DR - the VT167 crapped the bed and allegedly it was due to a "daughter" board added by hcigar. Evolv was so kind to offer a (refurbished) Therion 166 as a warranty settlement, even though it technically wasn't their product that failed.

Now if we could get other manufacturers to be as courteous as Evolv the vaping world would truly be the land of lollipops and unicorns. I salute you, Evolv

Nobody else does this, not in any industry. I went all mechanical some years back, but if I were still into regulated, it would be 100% Evolv. They have been the leading innovators in this industry since the day they introduced the Darwin mod in 2010. Back when I built my own DNA30 and DNA40 squonk mods (and that was the only way to get such a mod then) I know of a few cases where boards were ruined due to incompetence by individual hobby modders; Evolv always replaced the boards anyway. They also supported the hobby modders here on ECF with really good pricing via ECF Co-ops. Anyway, they are clearly a cut above any of their competitors.

I have to say that I have yet to hear bad stuff about Evolv, and congrats on your replacement!
They aren't perfect. There was an annoying bug in firmware of the DNA20 and DNA30 that you'd probably never see if the mod had a removable battery, but if the battery in a mod was not easily removable, that bug was a real PITA. Then there was the fiasco with the screens on the DNA40 early on. All of this was compounded by the fact that the firmware on those boards could not be updated. Of course, everyone makes mistakes, and in the end, what's most important is how they handle those mistakes; do they do whatever they can to make things right? For Evolv, the answer is a resounding, "Yes".
