Basically bought a ecig about 10 days ago, previously smoked 0.8 mg cigs, about 20-30 a day

Still been smoking a few normal cigs while vaping...like 3-6 a day, mostly in the morning

Started off with 16mg cartomizers for about a week with a few cigs inbetween, was fine on them, The site i got the ecig from didnt have any 16mg in stock when I needed some more so I just got sent 24mg ones (without any say in it)

Was fine on the 24mg ones, couldnt really tell the difference to be honest

Last night the 24mgs ran out so I was back on the 16mg cartomizers

For the past 24 hours I've had this dull headache mostly around my temples and the sides of my head, Just wondering if its possible that it could be down to messing around with the nicotine levels/smoking while vaping/some kind of withdrawl from the cigs?

Cheers

I smoked 2.5-3 packs of winston full flavors for 10-11 years and when I switched to vaping I ordered 24mg and I would wake up with the most awful headache so I bumped down to 8mg for a week or 2. The headaches went away but I went through juice like nobody's business, so I bumped up to 16mg and then again to 24mg but I noticed that if I smoke 12mg for a week or so and go back to 24 the headache comes back for a day or 2. So I believe it is the switching levels too fast I think you have to gradually change, but then again I know guys who smoked less than me and lights to boot that now vape 36mg no problem. Everyone is different and so are their tolerances. Oh and I also noticed if I drink more coffee one day that my ears would ring with 24mg. Kinda weird how things mixed can affect your body.

Hi mkr7, Yes to all the above. If you smoked 20-30analogs per day the you may want to stick around 24mg for a while, sort of a preventative measure. The thing is that your body will more offten tell you when you have over done it with nicotine. My body gives me those headaches but long after I have already gotten a sick feeling in my stomach. My wife has yet to get a headache but does get heartburn when she over does it. Theres quite a few threads here on the ECF dedicated to the quit fits and they are all very informative reads. Everyone is different. Glad you have decided to make the switch. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

I started with 36mg juice after smoking about 1 pack per day of Marlboro lights for 15 years.
I was vaping constantly - likely automatic looking for that smoker's buzz.
Starting getting headaches and palpitations.
Switched to 24mg and the symptoms disappeared.
Have been vaping 24mg for the last couple weeks.
Plan on switching to 18mg in the next week.
I've been off analogs for 19 days.

I get headaches when I overvape - either chain vaping a lot or using too high of a nic level. I have to watch myself at vape meets because I go crazy sampling and if I do TOO much sampling I get a bad headache by the end of the night. Been vaping a lot lately and getting some headaches so I'm cutting my nic level down again.

One thing you need to consider is that vaping releases less nicotine into your body than smoking does. Regardless of your juice mg level, you are going to be withdrawing from nicotine. The juice mg is more about reducing your craving for the cigarettes you are trying to stop.

The withdrawal is going to have some side-effects (headaches, tummy upsets, mood swings, shaking). Try to balance your vaping time with your cigarette time and keep in mind that unlike cigarettes you cannot sit and chain vape all night. Yes, people do it- but those people are usually vaping low mg juice. Doing this with 24mg juice will give you a headache from too much nicotine! Make sure when you are vaping that you drink water (vaping can have a dehydrating effect- which also causes headaches).

Try to give yourself plenty of relaxation time. Withdrawal is not easy but it should only last one to two weeks. Switching fully off cigarettes to vaping took me three months. Everyone has a time-line for their 'last ciggie' in mind, but often the body chemistry has other ideas!

Keep up the work- because it will be worth it.

Love to All

I think your headache comes from your body "missing" almost all of the 3600 poisons that burn away in a cigarette. The only poison left in Liquids is Nicotine so my unprofessional guess is that your body is suffering from cold turkey and busy cleaning up your lungs. Don't forget drinking and sleeping but if your head keeps humming you might want to see a doctor. Tell him about your problem, he is supposed to be qualified :)

This is very helpful to me right now. I've been vaping for about 3 weeks, and a good part of the time all that (headache/short of breath/rapid heartbeat) has happened to me. I should probably dilute the 18mg & try to vape less. Kinda relieved to know it's not another round of bronchitis, which led me to put down the smokes & pick these up.

I get headaches i quit for 4 months almost 5 now i noticed some juices more than others i think its whatever they might use in some flavorings .....sometimes i think it might be the PG though not sure because some of my juices were formulated with say 50/50 instead of 80/20 etc.... and i get less headaches it seems from 50/50, but your not alone in the head aches ....i know for sure PG makes your mouth alot more dry:)

Hey ya'll, I'm in the same boat -- haven't had a cigarette in almost 2 weeks, but I CHAIN VAPE like nobody's business and I pretty much constantly have a headache. I drink massive amounts of water -- I'm talking 20-30 refills of a 20 fl. oz water bottle a day...I tape many different juices between 12 and 16mg, and one or two that are 18. I'm sure my headaches are from vaping too much, but sometimes I wonder if I'm not vaping enough? It's hard to tell for me if I'm having a nicotine overdose headache or a withdrawal headache...

Like others have said, sometimes different juices mean no headaches...but pretty much I always have a low level headache at the least...all my newest juice orders are for 12mg so hopefully that will help and hopefully in a week or so my body will be through the worst of the cig poison withdrawal...

My problem with chain vaping is that I've got all these new toys! I want to try all my gear and play with my new juices and before I know it I've been vaping non-stop all day...
