Ok so after being on here the last 3 days and reading, reading and more reading I've decided it's time for a better setup. I currently just have a crappy starter kit with a 650 mAh battery and tank with wicks(excuse my lack of lingo ) I've read a lot and am still unsure of what exactly my preferred setup would be. To sum this up I'm looking for something with little maintenance. Right now this is my way to continue not smoking, I don't really know enough for it to be a hobby. I'm sure eventually it will be, but I'm not ready for that yet. I'm not interested in rebuilding things etc. Can anyone suggest something that's a step up from what I have, but not super pricey and is low maintenance? Or anything I specifically should be talking to the people at the shop about? I hate going into something I don't have enough experience with to converse about. Not to mention my one and only shop experience was horrible, but I'm hoping this new place will be much better. Thanks for any help!

Very tough question since you didnt really mention budget or preferences. I'll just tell you what I like. I prefer a small dna 30 or 40(if you can find one) box mod. Since you dont want rebuildable, the Beyond Vape Silo tank is the best clearo tank right now (IMO) using the new BVC coils of course. Aspire Nautilus would be second best option, w same BVC coils. Your local shop should be a freindly, helpful place to hang out, vape and talk and learn, and maybe eventually educate others. Good luck.

I disagree with the sentiment that you can't get a full setup for 100$.

A MVP shouldn't be more than about 50$ and the Nautilus should be around $35. That leaves some money for you to grab at least one bottle of juice. I'd recommend this setup wholeheartedly. As an advanced vaper (with a mess of devices/atties), I still find myself grabbing my MVP and my Nautilus Mini when I'm on-the-go, or in bed, or really.. Almost as often as I pick up my dual 18650 box mods.

My first mech mod setup only cost me 80$ (Nimbus clone + Magneto).

I agree with what has already been posted. An MVP2 or an Eleaf Istick would be good mods + Apsire Nautilus tank for ease of use. I'm really liking my Istick and though I haven't used these I think they are worth a look.... Joyetech Delta series : Joyetech Delta16/19

OOH, and this would be about as simple as it gets to use. I've been following the thread on the Joyetech egrip, and this might suit your needs as well. No fuss ...doesn't get much simpler and is within your budget. The replacement coils are a bit spendy, but most who are using these report that they are getting good life out of the coils.
Joyetech eGrip

Here's the ECV thread on the egrip: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/613559-new-joyetech-20watt-egrip.html

If I hadn't just upgraded to the istick , I would have probably gone that direction. BEWARE though.....there was a compromise I guess on credit card purchases directly through the joyetech site, so if you decide on this go through another reputable vendor, not joyetech site directly.

It really does depend on the markup that the shop has in place. Some places are reasonable...others? Not so much. Hopefully the place MrsMac is going to visit, is a reasonably priced store. :)

I would have to suggest an Istick for around $35 shipped off ebay for a battery, its simple to use, small and has a good battery life. You could also get a mini Nautilus off ebay for about $21 so if your budget was $100 that leaves plenty left for coils and juice. I have bought 3 isticks off of Vapenw ebay store with no issues.

It depends how much you want to improve. The MVP will serve you well, but it is a big, heavy rectangular box. If you are looking for something without the "electronics" that feels more like a cigarette, you could just go with a vv battery. The vision spinners are probably my favorite out of that style. Tanks it depends how much liquid you want to hold. The Nautilus is (I think 5 ml) of liquid and the mini is (I think, 2.5), they are both great tanks and use aspire nautilus bvc coils. If you don't want a tank that big or heavy, you could use and Aspire Vivi Nova BDC or the mini of that and use the Aspire BVC replacement coils. The Vivi Novas don't have adjustable air flow, but are reliable tanks non the same.

Here's a good video review of the egrip : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXeVfaDk2yU

Only reason I am really recommending this is because two weeks ago I was just wanting something extremely simple to use without any hassle. This would have been perfect for me I think...but I had already bought an istick by the time I discovered the egrip was on the market.

Just saw that you're from NY. Im wondering what part. Im near Albany and I go to 51 Vape. Awesome shop. Prices a bit high, but that seems to be a trend in vape shops lately, but Dave the owner, and Mike and Jeremy the dudes that work there are all very cool. What shop do you go to? What area you from?

I'm down in dutchess county, Poughkeepsie area. The only shop I've physically been to is "the vape craze shop" opened a few months back, but he was not helpful at all. He was more about the money then the customer.

I currently use a KangerTech aerotank. It changed my outlook on vaping. Running a dual coil system gets very nice hits. Currently running the aerotank on a Vision Spinner II. Works great and will remain as my day to day setup. You can get the aerotank for around $30.00 at my local B&M shop, the battery was $35.00. The replacement coils go for $2.75 at the B&M, but can be bought online for half that price. I have a fasttech ordered mech mod setup being shipped to me as we speak. Will use the newly ordered mech mod for at home casual use.

Thanks everyone. I have a much better idea of what I'm looking for now. I'm gonna head to this shop and hope it goes well. There's a couple within a 20 min or so drive. Over the next week I plan to visit them all to figure out who has the best prices and staff. Thanks again! I love this forum lol

And THAT is exactly how to do it! :)
A little research, then explore your options. Have fun on your journey finding a good fit for You! :D
