First off I have been a big fan of the uncooked rice method - until this morning. So I went to check on my drying cartomizers... I left them in the rice a bit longer than usual and had not checked on them in several days. 4 cartomizers had saturated the rice in the opening of the carto and they had blue mold growing down into the filler. I am just going to toss the whole lot of them. Can’t say I am surprised it IS food after all but what a waste :(

why not just clean them again verses throwing them out? Use a good strong cleaner, there are many ideas on cleaning, not that you didn't know that, but it does seems a waste to just throw them out. Did you have them in a zip lock? seems like a lot of moisture had to build up in there, maybe blowing them out a bit more...
So sorry it didnt work for you.
how long do you usually leave them to dry?
I just started using cartomizers, and still working the learning curve...

I had the in a disposable tupperware with approx a cup and a half of rice... initially the top was on but I didn’t reseal it several days ago when I checked them. I was using a bag a found that the ones that were in the rice with the mouth end up werent drying quickly... So I used a tupperware and stubbed them in mouth down for drainage... kind of like a rice ashtray :) I have been doing this for about 6 weeks and it worked great or so I thought.

Interesting. Makes me wonder when there isn't any visible mold if it's still there and we're all vaping it?

Please be my guest to try this out and report back to us.

Cartomisers were initially designed for single applications, whilst we are extending their lives refilling them until they no longer perform, cleaning them results in mediocre results at best.

I dont get the best results using the carts anyway, I'm not a big fan, You can't see inside them(I got a batch that had the caps glued on) so I just have no clue whats going on inside them, even dropping a few drops or a lot of drops liquid spills everywhere, and cleaning well I havent done any of that yet.
Being as how they are supposed to be disposable, I guess you wouldn't be losing too much to just throw them out, unless of course your as broke as me!!

if you want to take a peek in those glued on ones dip them in almost boiling water for a few seconds to loosen the glue ...works pretty good!

I am all about saving my hard earned dollars too but since I literally have to force myself to use cartos these days I will just part ways with them.

I will say - before I switched I tried to use the majority of my cartos for one flavor only and tossed them when they got yucky and I preferred that method to washing them.

I fill my cartos without removing the cap. I take a syringe with a polypropylene needle that tightly fills the hole, and put 1ml juice in when cartos are new. Then, after I have vaped them for quite awhile, I add juice in 1/2ml amounts.
Taking both condoms off carto, I put needle in hole, turn carto upside down with batt end hole up and fill carto, watching and stopping when any juice appears at batt end.
I've filled and am using approx. 20 different cartos now.
Hope this helps so you don't have to believe you have wasted your $$$$$.

Well I started with cartos and have since abandoned them because cleaning always made them taste “off” to me. However, I figured I would clean them and use them if I ever ran out of attys.

This just makes me want the CE2’s even more...
Please don't get your hopes to high with these. There is a thread on here where some one has done a psot mortem on one. It seems like several loops of the same type material used for the coil wick, leading to a coil. It is not an AFS per se.

Cartos do have their place and I have a 510 going on 2 weeks. I as you, I use a single flavour until the carto tastes "old", then I toss 'em. They are great for travelling etc... for every day use, I use reg carts.

Use a small screw driver too pop the mouth piece off or a nail some thing that will go in the whole the glue is not like a super glue or any thing take any plastic o rings out and then you can drip down inside many video on you tube to illustrare this or you can see a demo on how to do the condom refill method which I'm going to do once my ego shows up hopefully tomorrow.
