Not to throw a wet blanket on this thread or defend HC; But I believe their statement is in response to this news story about a tragedy here in N.B.

To summarize it:
A 17 year old Walmart employee was electrocuted by a floor polisher that was purchased by a fellow employee at a yard sale and brought to work (all with good intentions). I imagine Work Safe brought it to national attention and this was issued as a precaution for people to be more safety minded with what they sell.

A few good examples of items, lawn darts and lead paint, have already been mentioned but there are several baby items like cribs and car seats that have been recalled that may still be in peoples attics and passed along through yard sales, endangering youngsters.

Probably more of a CYA or passing the buck for responsibility by HC but that's how things operate.

I don't see how lawn darts could hurt a kid TODAY. They have to wear a helmet all the time, anyway! Lol

well what you would wanna do is buy something cheap that would fit the 510 bats in the bat compartment
stick it in ther tape it so it dont rattle,thrn send it to me lol,if customs were to questin you say ummm its a battery in a battery compartment,
not technically lying lol :facepalm:
