Kinda like when people at the townhalls hold up signs that say "Keep the government out of my Medicare".

AMEN - Sure would be nice if our education system didn't SUCK - Eh?
This really does seem to be an argument between the well educated and the "short-bus riders" who seem to say -
"I have no idea what I'm talking about - My kids helped me make this poster - Crayons taste like purple!"

I sure wish one of them would explain to me how Medicare is NOT socialistic but "The Public Option" IS ????
They are dam near IDENTICAL - No really - Don't explain that to me - Explain it to YOURSELF -

Some definitions here:

Government run healthcare: Where the government provides the care, the hospitals are owned by the government and the employees are government employees. See: The UK system and the US Veterans Administration

Single Payer healthcare: Where hospitals and doctors are private and for-profit (or NFP) where people pay premiums into a single fund and that fund pays the doctors. See: The Canadian system and US Medicare.

We already have both of those models here in the US.

The suggestion to allow people to buy INTO Medicare is what is currently being bandied about.

Costs go down for Doctors in this type of system because they don't have to worry about the rules and regulations of dozens of companies (and the individual plans within these companies) as they have one set of codes and one set of payment schedules.

Just to clear up any confusion with all of the terms that are being tossed out here.

Nothing to say really - I just think this post needs repeating :)

no wonder why some people compare obama to hitler

Comparing Obama to Hitler? When bush left office he left us fighting two wars and verbally in war with just about every other country out there. That whole no child left behind was nothing more than his first step in eliminating the public schools as a whole. What about the patriot act, now that’s another whole thread in itself! Maybe he was the one to pull the plug in sending troops into Lackawanna but it was the man he chose as vice president that pursued it (and no, I didn’t vote for him). Sounds more like Hitler to me than any other president since I’ve been born, yet I still wouldn’t compare Hitler to Bush only for the sake of this argument.

Bill Kristol Admits Public Health Care is Better On 'Daily Show'

KRISTOL: I think that if you become a soldier, you deserve-- Look - One of the ways we make it up to the soldiers, since they're risking their lives, we give them first-class health care. The rest of us can go out and buy insurance--
STEWART: So you said that the public--
[crosstalk]
STEWART: Get this on the record. Bill Kristol said that the government can run a "first class health care system." And a government-run health care system is better than the private health care system.
KRISTOL: I don't know if it's better.
STEWART: You just said that.
KRISTOL: I don't know if it's better.
STEWART: You said it was better! You said it's the best. It's a little more expensive...
KRISTOL: The military needs different kinds of health care...
STEWART: I just want to get this down: "The government runs the best health care."

I might not have been very happy with Bush but his policies were nowhere near anything like Hitler and the wars were all justified the congress voted for them along with the patriotic act, bush just signed them, the democratic congress I might add...and at least Bush did not go to a church where his mentor pastor preach hatred for 20 years. That alone has the making of Hitler and all the people he has associated with along the years.

Obama is antisemitic, I mean he tells Israel where Jews are allowed to live in Jerusalem,

how would the United States like it if PM of Israel told NYC where all the blacks are allowed to live on which blocks in NYC? Al Sharpton will come running out crying racism..

Obama learned all his hatred from his his buddy pastor Wright and only a matter of time before his policies affect us here in America

People want to have secure, guaranteed healthcare coverage and you bring up Rev. Wright as your reason against it? Got a Bill Ayers analogy to go along with that?

if the shoe fits..how can you take anyone serious who denies he knew nothing about Rev wright hatred and he was in the same church for 20 years?

and you want this man to change our healthcare system?

either he is too naive, or a racist and antisemitic..personally i believed based on his actions he is antisemitic and full of hatred..I don't want this guy messing with my healthcare that is for sure

Did you not read my last sentence?
Iraq war was all Bush!
No child left behind was all Bush!
The patriotic act was SIGNED by Bush.
A pastor says things about our government; wouldn’t that make all of us allot like Hitler then?
Rush says worse things about our government then anybody I know, can we compare him to Hitler?

The point is we don’t compare Rush or Bush to Hitler then why compare Obama to Hitler?

It wasn't all Bush...you need Congress to vote and pass the bills..and you need Congress to authorize the wars...

Just like Congress voted for this stupid FDA tobacco act...and Obama signed it...

Congress did not vote for them - They voted to give Bush powers that he used - They never got to vote on it - If they had there would have been an official declaration of war - There was no such thing - And the congress was NOT democratic - It was Rep. in 2000-2001 and a 50/50 split 2001-2003 - Not even Afganastan was justified - No one from that country attacked us -

106th Congress (1999-2001)
Republican (55 seats)
Democrat (45 seats)

107th Congress (2001-2003)
Democrat (50 seats)
Republican (50 seats)

Nor did Obama's pastor preach hate - You base that on one out of context clip that was played over and over - The points he made were simply that the USA was not an "innocent" victim - Our actions and foreign policies regarding the middle east produced consequences as through them we created enemies -

You want to discuss - Then do so - Just stop the Hitler references - It only serves to make you look foolish and stupid - that reference is out of line and disrespectful to those who had to deal with the real HITLER - Neither man in question comes anywhere near Hitler - NOT EVEN CLOSE - I hated Bush - But never would I comapare him to Hitler - that would be an insult to Hitler ;)
