Tax junk food and booze to save lives | The Australian

"A WORLD-FIRST study has called for the introduction of a 10 per cent tax on junk food. As well, it called for increased alcohol and tobacco taxes and mandatory limits on salt levels in bread and cereal in a package that would cut costs and save thousands of lives."

I just love you all these lives will be saved and how the money saved with out looking at the costs of maintaining these saved lives with additional costs such as social security, medicare and Medicaid payments over a longer live and housing these older citizens as they are unable to care for themselves. Such a limited view of life.

There really is no savings in longevity, at least from the governments standpoint and particularly with their desire to re-install the death tax. Steinbrenner's heirs were so lucky.

People have been conditioned over decades to accept regulation - that someone else can do their thinking for them, and they don't have to then think for themselves...society, as a whole (and I'm talking the silent majority here, not the vocal minority) is actively, and willingly, selling itself into slavery.
