HHV is still fairly new but being reviewed a lot so Ill keep it neat and short. First impressions.

GANDALF
Ya its good like you've heard. Pipe tobacco type lightly sweet. (Think black and mild meets honey graham cracker IMO) light flavor.
Strangely it reminds me of flue cured from Mt. O....huh or was it when I mixed black honey tobacco with flue cured...anyways.

DARK HORSE
Mr. Ed would shake in his boots...well not really. Light, good, lightly sweet tobacco flavor. A little dark, black honey tobacco taste but not unfamiliar. Not smokey. Tastes a bit of tea (that could just be the tobacco)

HUNTSMAN
Sweaty,deer urine soaked flavor? Noooo lol Another good flavor. Sweet, light, similar to dark horse but even more tea like. O great just dripped on my shirt lol.

CARAMEL APPLE TOBACCO
Similar tobacco to Huntsman, very lightly sweet, light flavor, nice finish of caramel then apple. Weird its in that order lol Good also

DRAGON'S FIRE
Stronger than the others slightly sweet, spice note, almost like a marshmallow tea tobacco lol I'm crazy. Complex. Okay. No spicy cinnamon as I had imagined...or chili

CHERRY BOMB
Subtle, light, creamy,not very sweet. Okay. Would benefit greatly with added sweetener.

JUST PEACHY (a sample)
Light, creamy peach. Lightly sweetened. Good.

CIN CITY
Real cinnamon!-not red hots. Barely sweet growing on me.
If it was sweeter it would probably be my favorite cinnamon ever. That can be fixed (but this is as is)! It is flavorful though. I've been longing for a great cinnamon toast like juice. I found one other that beats this.


PREFERENCE LIST: (first impressions only though)

Conclusion: The flavors are a little light for my taste (they are not faint) I prefer stronger sweeter flavors so please take that into account. Will they grow on me? Probably. For now they are above average, but still just alright. Maybe from what I've read my expectations were too high. Stone me if you want.
IF YOU enjoy lighter flavors, you really will like these. They will probably be all day vapes for you. It is good quality stuff....just not my bag.

Nice...thank you for sharing and taking the time to do the reviews. Seems like these flavors will be great for many! I too like things a bit on thewatsong side, but I know many people that prefer a more subtle approach. . I like the names of the different juice!

In mid-June, I bought an HHV Sampler Pack consisting of Gandalf, Dragon's Fire, Huntsman, and Dark Horse.

At first, Gandalf was my fave---I'm now almost through my first 30ml bottle and have another 30mls waiting in the wings---and Dragon's Fire was in dead last place because of an odd banana-like overtone, which I didn't like.

Huntsman reminded me of BWB Hunter's Blend. I can't remember what Dark Horse was like, and now I can't find the 3ml sampler bottle I bought.

After two weeks of steeping, the banana strangeness in Dragon's Fire dissipated and left the most delicious creaminess to augment the tobacco and spice. Now Dragon's Fire has taken over first place and kicked Gandalf---which is tasting more and more chocolatey, which I'm not sure I love---into second.

I wish to state a retraction of my comment.

If I have an issue with HHV, it's the size of their samples. They are only 3ml so I've doing all my vaping of their juices with an io6 dripping atomizer. As I said, I found the taste to be good but subtle.

I got a Penelope in about a week ago. I absolutely love this RBA with the way it delivers flavors; not only that, but it is really good with taking what juice amounts you have and using every little bit.

Today I took the remainder of the Huntsman, maybe 1 - 1.5mls, and put it in the Penelope. The flavor is outstanding, not overpowering, not subtle- just right. Really good.

Now I'm going to use the dregs of my remaining bottles and see how they do. I'm looking forward to this.

I get a little fresh dark honey in Dragon's Fire (right out of the mail box); it's much sweeter than Gandalf. No marshmallows or tea for me (although maybe what your brain calls "tea" is what my brain is calling "fresh mild tobacco.")

Gandalf wub is definitely a pipe tobacco to me; I'd call it "gentlemanly" rather than "subtle." (And yet it ravished me . . . ) It is less sweet than Dragon's Fire, but I cannot isolate the sweetness. I don't think it's honey, but I could be wrong. Again, no marshmallows. Or tea. Or bananas. (Or chocolate.)

Just wonderfulness in both juices!

Ok so i know I didn't wait that long but instead of an atty I load up a carto with GANDALF and took it to work. Vaping it now- for four hours this morning.

My thoughts are the same. While I think its good, while I do enjoy it, like most juices I don't think its worth the "hype." It is a little stronger now maybe, but reminds me of another flue cured/black honey Vape I had but slightly stronger. Maybe that's why the uniqueness fails to impress me. I may sound critical and I partially am, I'm not saying it is bad. It's good. I could Vape it the rest of the day and be fine-though I won't....I have some highbrow-9 flavors screaming my name and even though I know I should wait from what I've heard the curiosity is getting the best of me.

The fact I'm willing to put Gandalf down to try them, tells me how I really feel. Gandalf is good stuff, at a good price. Good job HHV.

HHV benefits from steeping. I love Gandalf as soon as I get it but if I do let it steep it's even better!!! I like Huntsman as well. Haven't tried any other flavors so thanks for the reviews.

I'm generally a tobacco kinda guy. So I stick with those.

Does anyone have any strong opinions on the mix and how it affects the flavors? With Gandalf I had the sample first which is 70/30. When I ordered a 30ml bottle I went completely opposite and did 20/80; knowing i could have gone totally VG had i wanted to (its in HHV's purity line, so all organic). They also offer 3 strengths of menthol you could add should that strike your fancy. As I said I went 20/80 and added the lightest amount of menthol. It seems to have not needed the steeping time like the sample bottle. Anyone think by me going 20/80 i may be sacrificing some of the flavor?

Mix always affects flavors. Generally more PG more flavor. More VG more vapor less flavor. I haven't tried hhv in both so I can't say 4 sure in this case

I have the sampler pack and so far Dark Horse is the one for me.

It tastes alot like Marlboro the Gandalf is just too sweet for me. Tastes a little like Bobas Bounty so if you like Bobas Gandalf is for you.

But if you like more of a cig taste and no sweetness than it looks like dark horse is the bomb.

I have a PG Allergy so no choice I have to buy 100% VG and HHV is the only place in town with tobacco extract not using PG

Gandalf is my all day vape.

So far I've also tried Gollum, dragon's fire and Hunstman. I have dark horse steeping but it's been almost two weeks and I'm too impatient to wait any longer so I'm loading it into a nova after I vape down my last tank of Gandalf.

Ya know, I find it odd you consider HHV ejuice a light vape. Maybe it's because they stick to natural earthy non-sugary flavors which could translate to some folks as light.

I vape Gandalf at 80/20 pg/vg 18mg at 4.2 volts and get a very strong earthy flavor and a throat hit that forces me to turn it to 3.8 volts somtimes. Not to mention I'm a former Totally Wicked menthol ice vaper so I am used to strong artificial in your face vapes.

Like they say, flavor is...blah blah blah.

I'm vaping HHV right now and I am having the same issues as you are. I steeped my sample bottles for about a week before vaping and the flavor is just not quite there. Maybe its cause its 100%VG.

If Gandalf tastes anything like Boba's I am not interested.
Can anyone confirm this similarity in flavor between Gandalf and Bobas?

never had bobas bounty but gandalf is a pipe tobacco with cherry notes -- so unless bobas has fruity tones to it i just do not see it
