I need gun training too, but I have plenty of trainers in house. That's also why I'm lazy about learning..

I'm sure DH would be more than happy to teach you. If I'm a woman, I'd have a compact, semi-auto in my purse (or vehicle) as well. I'm convinced a woman would not hesitate if she felt threatened. Better him than you. Right?

BTW, women purchasing firearms has skyrocketed in the past 5 - 10 years. I went to a gun show a few years ago and could not believe how many ladies were there with their BF's/husbands checking out firearms. A small 9mm (or similar) is a nice sized handgun for a lady to keep in her car.

What if they aren't armed? What if it's just breaking in thinking no one was home and grabbing a jewelry box? Or will you just assume they are armed?
There's little to no time to figure that out in that situation April , you have to consider them a threat to your life if they're evil enough to break in to begin with .

My wife carries a Ruger Speedsix 357 magnum in her purse , no safety to fumble with , just pull the trigger .

April is just a nice girl who wouldn't harm a flea. Sadly, we have to understand there are evil people out there who don't give a crap whether we live or not. I think once that is understood it's easier to defend yourself. When someone forces themselves on you it becomes an easy decision. My grandfather fought in WW1 (France). WW1 was a nasty war. Lots of hand to hand and chemical warfare. Anyhow, I once asked my Grandpa when I was a little fella how he could find it within himself to shoot at another human being. He said when you have bullets winging over your head it becomes very easy. In other words, when you feel threatened...

And anybody that breaks in is a threat , if I don't shoot them my wife will . I'd much rather hear that a friend shot an intruder than a friend got shot by an intruder .

I thought we changed the subject?

I've had one thing stolen from my house ever. My husbands cerevelo tri bike. It was a teenager who saw the garage door open and walked right into the garage and ride off. I was home, it was 330 in the afternoon. I can't imagine he was armed and should have died.

I live a sheltered life though. I'm sure you are all correct. My friend is a real estate agent and she's always armed.

Thanks all and good morning Army! The wedding was real nice, but makes me anxious for the one coming up in June. (snif, she's not my baby anymore... Not loosing a daughter, but gaining a son.) Happy Monday as it's the last day of exam monitoring. Then we just hang out for 4 days while they check the grades.

Beautiful photos, Chakris. Thanks for sharing.

Cool photos Chak, but you know I gotta ask what was on the menu, professional curiosity ? :)

Well, we didn't stay for the last part of the ceremony as Mama's back was starting to ache, the pic of the table with snacks is all I saw - tuna filled buns, popovers with vegies and ground pork inside, and butter cake with butter cream icing topped with a dribbling of sweet egg yoke - coffee, tea or cocoa.

Not sure what they fed the monks, but it is traditional to do so. That was the picture of decorated trays lines up inside the hall.

Great photos, beautiful couple, and such an awesome and colorful ceremony. Love it! My best wishes for their happy forever Chak, - and a really nice pic of you too!
Thanks Hula, most the Thai ceremonies are colorful - even the funerals - lots of wreaths and flower arrangements.

Good afternoon..this weekend is flying by. Awesome pictures Chak...looks like a great time. Well I decided to sew pjs for all three grandkids for Easter (they don't need toys or candy and loved the Christmas ones). Spent a fortune at the fabric store now will have to buckle down and get er done. I'm sure I could spend less money on fabric...but the girls just really need princess stuff:D Grilling burgers, potatoes and carrots for dinner..yummy then unfortunately have to go bowling..oh well it's always fun once I get there.

Everyone have a fabulous evening.............

Thanks IG, it was. I seem to be eating a lot of burgers lately, Mama Chak's going nuts on the home made buns!!! :p

um, what does 'she washed out bad' mean?

I enjoy biking, but my rear end does not. The bike I have is old and was owned by a friend much shorter than me; that could be the problem.

I believe washed out meant that she either she was real tired afterwards or she took a bad spill. Yes, it's very important to adjust the seat to your body and leg length. When peddling, your leg should be pretty much straight on the down stroke. Helps to stretch the tendons in the back of the leg. You should also be able to straddle the frame comfortably.

Off to the exams!!! ugh!!! Be back at lunch, maybe.

Gosh, they are playing that ad over and over...the one of that 53 year old lady who smoked herself to death. She looks like Gollum. I guess she just died at age 53. One of those scared straight ads. They showed a photo of her when she was a teenage girl. Very pretty. The transformation is stark.
