Bronze I feel for you and understand your pain. My poor aunt gets a call this morning that my uncle is done with physical therapy so now his expenses will be private pay:confused: When he was admitted they told her expenses would be covered by medicare for a month. She is meeting with someone tomorrow but I sure wish I understood more about these issues so I could help her more. Baby it's cold outside....drastic difference so now just have to get used to it again.

Good Evening Army. All this talk of CC Fraud I just checked, no discrepancies. Isn't the 'Information Highway' grand ? All of your personal information, including financial info, SSI, Personal Opinions (Facebook, etc) all plastered up on one giant billboard across the Internet for everyone / anyone to access ? All for the convenience of a few desk jockeys (Private and Public Sector) whom you hope do not have Gambling Debts, Drug Addictions, Fanatical End-of-World Religious Beliefs, Warped Resentments..... and shared with thieves, embezzlers and con-artists who have internet capabilities. Common Criminals can rob you blind in their underwear without moving ten feet from their {Other} pipe. Reinventing the Wheel strikes Again !

The more We Progress, the More I miss Back When......

Something to be said about rotary telephones.

Yes, Good and Bad.. all go hand in hand. Back when if I wanted to buy something from China, it would take me a year to go and get it and come back, that is if I survived Kublai Khan and the Silk Road...

You did mean, back when you were a wee laddie right?!

Yea, back when gas was .19 cents an gallon, 6 1/2 oz. Coke bottles were a nickel, and John Wayne smoked.
Back when the peddle on the right was actually an 'accelerator', and Jane Fonda was a kook.
Back when Phones weighed 12 lbs, Ma Bell was on the Job, and 'Chatting' was something old women did.
Back when Cobbler was a Trade, and Welfare was frowned upon.
Back when "Made in America' meant something, and Unions served their Workers.
Back when Jimmy Hoffa and J. Edgar Hoover were more important than the Kardashians.
Back when God, Mom and Dad, Teacher and Officer were actually good things.
Back when......

if ya think about it.... the price of gas hasnt changed since the 70's

cars got 7-8 mpg and gas was 70 - 80cents per gallon about 10 cents per mile
today cars get 25 - 30 miles per gallon and at 2.50 - 3.00$ a gallon its still 10 cents per mile......

What were you driving...a Bradley?

I'm enjoying the break on gasoline right now. I just filled up for $34. Smart teenage driver has learned to borrow Mom's car when she's home because it gets better gas mileage.. Really I make him pay for his own gas when he can, so he knows using mine keeps cash in his pocket.. He's no dummy.

Oilfield workers will be suffering shortly around here tho. That part isn't good.

Just called my credit card company (chase) and they are sending a new card.. AGAIN. They were supposed to call me and that never happened. I talked to a friend at my local bank, and fraud protection isn't a guarantee so I feel like I have to keep using a credit card for online purchases. Will stick with my Discover when I can, as I've had no issues with fraud on it. Chase peeps said someone used the numbers but wrong address and expiration date.

Bronze, I feel ya on the bills. Property taxes, Christmas. My health insurance didn't go up but it's a crappy plan so it's a no win anyway.

Well, I'm puked out. But the health insurance hike pisses me off to no end...for obvious reasons. And I hardly even use it.

I like my health care package... no monthly expenses... only spend money when I see a Dr. :)

when I worked at Intralox, they pulled 220$ a check ( 440 a month) for insurance.... never used it for 6 yrs... ummm thats 31K$ spent on unused health care for myself.... imagine the nice car I could have had....
