How's Texas? You staying dry?

It is REALLY wet here. It has rained every day for weeks. I live near a lake that was 15 feet low less than 2 months ago. Today it is 7.5 feet high and rising, and we've got rain in the forecast every day for the next 10 days.

We've been in a drought for 5 years, and now we're praying for the rain to stop.

How about you? Is any of this weather reaching NC?

Hula, that cat is in the danger zone. Robin is right. If you scare her off there, no telling how many of the fragile pieces, she could take with her. I keep a can of electronics duster on my computer table. If the cats insist on getting into something, or being mean, I pull out the can of air. Sometimes I shake it, in warning. It ALWAYS gets their attention. They are terrified of that air spray. I rarely need it, but it sits there, for just in case. Even the dog is afraid of that thing. She has seen the reaction of the cats, and the dog is no dummy. She knows something evil lurks in that can, and if you shake it, it gets worse. HAHAHA. But you dear, never try that air spray on a cat in a precarious position with your beloved valuables. It would not end well. You may have to get an enclosed curio cabinet.
Great idea! I was thinking water gun - but then all the dust on the shelves would show up (Gee, I'm glad I polished that recently before I took the picture….)

Ooh, I can relate to that. Came home one day to find out Mama had fallen and broken her arm - slipped on a slip rug. BK, does your wife also have a health problem (as if I really need to ask - don't we all have something at this age... duh) I think it's like comparing scars or something... o_O Hey, I got 3 stents in my left ventricle. What-da you got?

Dat ain't nottin! I got a BP o' 250 over 140! Beat that....
CHAK! BAD boy. BAD! Get some medicine for that, please, unless it was unusual and you'd tested just after you found Sue in the garden! I'm glad all's well with her. How are things today? Is she OK? Are you OK?

I haven't said anything because you guys have been talking about kids and cats. I love cats as long as they're someone else's.

And, as someone once said, at my age kids are like farts - you can only stand your own (and even then, just barely).
I was gonna ask you to say something funny. Didn't have to ask.:)

I just got off the phone with my nephew who lives in Fort Worthless. He gave me the same weather report. Some areas a lot worse than where he is. We've been hot and dry here. You can send some of your rain here.

@retic1959 are you ...... on the kitty?

Nope, but if she places herself in the line of fire I won't be held accountable for the results . Just got back from wal-mart carrying a 25lb. bag of cat food in one hand and assorted bags of groceries in the other and yup , kamikaze kitty runs right between my feet and then has the nerve to look indignant when I trip on her , PITA ! :)

You could just put some fly paper around the base of the curio and catch the little perpertrater red pawed . :)

I'd probably forget it was there and catch myself red-footed instead. G.D. (Giddy? .....it?) just flies through the air at this stage. Yeah,... she looks like a bumblebee but nevertheless, and quite against the laws of everything science, she flies anyway.

Bronze, my cat is much like your cat in some ways. She wants on my lap constantly. Sometimes I don't mind. Sometimes I want her off. I gently push her off. She rushes right back. I pick her up, and place her on the floor...repeat actions...after about 3 times of that, she does the stalk mode on me. She barely moves, and ever so slightly, gets into my lap, hoping I will not notice. If I sleep, it is the same thing. If I push her off...she comes back, and eases back next to me. My daughter's cat on the other hand, likes to lay on my ankles, and she flops down on them, like she doesn't care if it wakes me up, or not. In the winter, both the cats want to sit in my chair when I get up. It is toasty warm. I can get a glass of water, come back, there's a cat. Forgot the Kleenex, get back up, there's a cat. The old cat will get off. The younger cat rolls around on the chair, almost daring me to make her get off. Pick up that handy dandy can of compressed air (with the plastic straw in it), and point it...off she goes. I don't have to spray it. I just have to threaten to.

The dog wants to sleep with me, but I am not about to let her. I make her sleep in the crate. If I don't, she wants to lick me. She can't just lay there, and enjoy her new found freedom. Maybe one of these days she will be able to sleep out of the crate. It isn't looking promising at this point.

Anyone who has a cat knows they don't listen and they are constantly plotting to ensure they get their way all the time. They're relentless that way. I'm constantly calling the cat, "Pest". I can't stand having her constantly sleeping on me either. I need my space. I really need a break from cats. We had three and we're down to one.

I don't mind a cat sleeping next to me. I just don't want them on TOP of me, especially my chest, or head. I still have hot flashes, and a hot cat just makes me sweat. I like to be cool when I sleep, not hot. My daughter's cat is hefty. I don't want her laying on me period. My cat (really my son's cat) is not heavy, and she is fairly small. But I still don't want her on top of me. She doesn't seem to understand those claws hurt me. Now and then she tries to kneed me, and I really really don't like that. It would be nice to have a nice sound sleep, without interruptions.

Mister (?) Bronze ...... If that is a sign of respect for his age, it is warranted. (I should know, right ?)
I got me about seven hours of good sleep last night. No cats or dogs, just occasional traffic passing by.

Good Thursday Morning, Army. Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Adding my Good Morning to the line up

Any fun stuff coming up this long weekend? I'm about to finish a 3,000 piece puzzle and going to a local playhouse with very a ameteur actors (locals). Fun but a lot of overacting

That's the extent of my weekend plans.
