I tried the samples from Retic via Bronze... I find the PG does have a significant effect on flavors... I was offered the Legend at 100VG 24 nic and the Legend Bronze sent... the PG version was very cherry forward as to where the 100VG is more earthy, tobacco based with the cherry almost hard to detect... and the 100VG 36 nic 2X flavor shots is even more earthy, tobacco based with barely a hint of cherry ( I get raspberry hints).... so we have a conundrum here... is it the VG/PG or the nic or even more confooozing a combination of both? :)

originally Pheobe ( as in Pheobe Cates) but it has been morphed into BeeBee ( BB Bernies Baby) I call it little bugness cuz its cute as a bug and its little :) its finally feeling comfy with us and its personality is blossoming big time... playful, bouncy, full of life... but it still has some issues, seems as if it was "repremanded" a bit too much when it came time to eat... she is still really hesitant when food is placed in the feeding area... real skitterish.. kinda worries me a bit. :(
They really do have short memories. Don't treat it differently when you feed. Treat the poor thing like a normal dog. After a while, it will revert back to being a normal dog. :)

When she gets hungry, she will eat. Just don't baby her or you will reinforce the idea that it is ok to act like that.

Just put the food down and let it be.

I get those random attacks of nostalgia too! Watching dances from the past can be addictive - I got caught up in videos of the Lindy Hop recently. So athletic! And they look really fun to do. Big band music is still popular back in my old stomping grounds. My friend's older brother leads a big band group that's had regular gigs for decades. They are talented musicians. Rob is the one playing trombone in the video. Fun music that makes you feel happy!

*******************
Yeah, they do look like a lot of fun. My dad used to play in a big band back in the day. He also played the trombone and so did I in the high school band. I didn't play in a band outside of school though. Once in a while we'd play songs from the swing era, lot of fun to play too, but not easy.

the problem we are seeing is that she is afraid of the food bowl... seems she might have been disciplended (sp) a bit too much to allow the other dogs to eat first ( the guy was breeding them for money and the puppy producers got first choice at feeding time)
but its all conjecture at this point... but the wifey feels its a real issue ( she is a real dog kinda person, can read a dogs mind/actions to a "T")... its almost scarey what she can do with dog " reading"

Is it just the dish? Can she just put the food on the floor for a while until she gets comfortable with eating?

What did they do to her to create that behavior I wonder.

EDIT: You already answered.

I found the tobacco to be earthy too. I think I called it grassy. But one in the same depending on who you ask. And while I have always called it cherry, it really would be better described as "fruity". And raspberry would be as good a descriptor as cherry. I remember Legend as being fruit-forward and the tobacco base being more smoky than earthy. Now I find it to be tobacco-forward and more earthy. It has changed quite a bit when it was first made. Same arena but in a seat on the other side of the stadium. For the record, I preferred the original flavor to this. I'm just glad you guys got a chance to try it with PG. Ret said he was gonna age it more. I think it is already nearly three months. Not sure how much more it will change. It might.

OK, I don't know about you guys but I'm ready for a new NET from HHV. Maybe we can apply a little pressure on Heather and Adam. Perhaps we can suggest what we would like. I'll start.

I'd love a turkish (oriental) based NET that is tobacco-forward and then use a non-fruit sweetener as a very obscure back note to do nothing more than take the dryness out of the tobacco. Could be vanilla, brown sugar, graham, or similar. And NO creamy note as there is in Shadow and Heavenly Army. It needs to be a straight up tobacco-dominate flavor. And turkish has that nice, pleasant spiciness to it. Add a touch of sweetener to take the dryness out (which helps with durability so we can vape it for more than an hour).

we tried that... didnt work... at this point its basically hand feeding tidbits and gaining trust..... Im really wondering about the "truthfulness" of how this dog was raised in the last several months... too many hints of harsh treatment is showing up... the timidness may be subjection.... time will tell, but she is becoming a very "lively" sweetie with the show of love towards her...
every day she shows us something new and encouraging that she is making steps forward... shes not the "hunkering down" and subjective animal that she was in the begining.... actually its kinda neat to watch her grow out of this "submissional" phase.
time will tell... she has the capacity to be a wonderful addition to the collective love here.... ( probably one of the kewllest dogs Ive known :) )

sheesh... Im gettin mushy gonna stop now .. :)

nope ... we tried that too... its something with feeding time... shes really hesitant at eating, but if offered food by hand she seems more willing to eat... the bowl feed action induces a fear like action in her... she runs to the bowl and then looks at us and then regresses untill we touch the bowl and say its okay, then she will approach the bowl with hesitance, looking constantly at us as if expecting a hand swat or something.... ( if you move your hand quickly when near the bowl she runs off)....

its gonna take time ... but she is worth it... :)

why do we get so attached to animals???

and the same situation with PB.... it has morphed into a few different configurations over the last 3 yrs... blame it on seasonal changes in growing?? but when it comes to nature, there is no constant... just like wine I suppose, why 1 year a batch of wine wins awards and the next its gross.... even tho its the same plant same spot its grown in.... its a guessing game.... either way, PB will be and has been my favorite... just ask Robin about DF ;)

Trombone players! Impressive. I have heard that swing is a tough style to play. It's not something I pop on on my iPod, but I appreciate it when I hear it. :)

Because the worst thing they do is barf on the carpeting.

Mine are a bit naughtier than that. Tonight's fun was Song trying to escape when we came back with groceries. Because she was right there, I rushed to pick up the big 38lb box of kitty litter, caught my toenail on the cardboard edge of the box and pulled it up. A quarter of the nail pulled away. That does not feel good. Grrrrr.
