Pretty sure they are making boxes smaller too.
I hope the sadness is lifting and that your hands are feeling better today.![]()
she does vape but when she gets wigged out she smokes a bit too.... shes getting ready to go in to get her port taken out ( she dislikes any kind of surgery that requires being totally out for )
Was just told Saturday that people with 4.8 GPAs (yes, on a 4.0 scale) are being rejected at Duke. Not only do you have to have an off-the-charts high school record (with tons of extra credit and college prep courses) but it helps to have rich parents who will happily donate to the school.Hey! I’m from CT as well.
I wanted her to get a good dose of the cold so I was happy for the cold weather. We looked at Boston College, Boston University and Northeastern (Harvard and MIT for fun). She liked BC.
Then we went to Villanova and down to DC to Georgetown and GWU. She loved Nova. First choice remains Duke (which is so hard to get into, it’s a long shot).
Finally home. Sorry for the delayed response, we were busy!
How can a city that is so sprawled out screw up their road system so bad? Been that way forever in Atlanta.I'm off to fight Atlanta morning rush. Wish me luck.
Well, I hope today is going to be a good day, we shall see. The weather should be nice, so that is good. I'm having side effects from some of these medicines now. I won't list them all, but eating yogurt is at the top of my list. The antibiotic is killing the good bacteria too, which stinks. I have a very dry mouth, and my taste buds are off too.
Even my e-juice tastes bad. I had the Reo going this morning, and I pulled the door down to see the juice level. It was leaking inside, all over the bottle and everything. I usually lay the door on my coffee mug, and then put it back on. The whole door of the Reo fell in my mug full of coffee. I had to get a fork to dig around and find it. It was funny afterwards. Even Papaw's Oriental Silk tastes bad right now. So that right there tells me my taster is off. I have other side effects, but I will have to make do with what I have to make it work.
It is and they are! Funny but they were the most painful ever that day but now are feeling almost fine and much, much sooner than the usual. I did get a modified chemo where it was just the pump and no injection to start.
There is some pealing but not nearly as bad as before. They arent the totally angry red of previous times. Here's to hoping that this is the magic dosage.
OhMyGosh! I'm thrilled for Mrs. BK!!I've had my port for so long that it is like a part of me. As for me, I prefer to be totally out.

We are getting ready to go on our next adventure next week. Fly out to Portland and visit hubby's son then drive to Yellowstone. Take in Mount Rushmore and a bit of that part of the country then drive on to Denver. Fly out of Denver back to home.
I've always wanted to see Old Faithful.
Next trips are being planned now. Baby showers for hubby's daughter. Two of them. One in the Philly area and one in Connecticut. We are attending both. The first one is May 20th in Philly, second is June 17th (Fathers Day) in Connecticut.
Good morning Army!![]()
I'm curious. What do you have in your coffee that requires digging? The whole door of the Reo fell in my mug full of coffee. I had to get a fork to dig around and find it.
Yes, here’s to a good day in spite of anything!
So often the cure is worse than the disease! We have plenty here who can attest to that. But we are a strong bunch too! Hang in there, my dear!

Just one more reason why I don't drink the stuff.![]()
I know she knows that. She has lots of excellent credentials and almost any school would be thrilled to have her. Duke is an awesome school to be sure but they're snobs and it takes connections and a lot of dough to get into that place. But then they have to have at least some honest, hard working kids so maybe the little one still has a chance. If not, it's their loss.@Bronze (and anyone else that cares! Lol!)
She’s aware her chances of gettting in to Duke are slim. Their acceptance rate is only 10%. GPA is 4,3, just re took her SATs and bumped that to 1400. Act are this weekend. She willl graduate HS with her AA degree as she’s taken all the college level classes and dual enrolled at the CC here. She’s got all that service work (volunteering in Nicargua) and weekly at hospice for the last year. This summer she was awarded a scholarship to Berkeley for a weeklong class on medical stuff. She plans on applying to Duke as early decision, which should increase her chances. If that’s not enough for them, then that’s clearly not where she’s meant to be. I’d like to see her go somewhere that appreciates her accomplishments
For the record, I have not pushed her to work this hard. It’s all her (if anything I have asked her to back down).
There are so many wonderful schools out there, I’m sure she’ll find a good fit for her, wherever that may be. Personally I’d rather she stay a little closer to home. University of AZ is her local choice. Which sounds good to me![]()
I've often wondered that. Chicago is larger, and to the east they are blocked by a lake, yet their traffic problems aren't nearly as bad as Atlanta's.How can a city that is so sprawled out screw up their road system so bad? Been that way forever in Atlanta.
And then look at the airports too. O'hare and Hartsfield see close to the same volume yet the speed at which people and cargo move through O'Hare smokes Hartsfield. And O'Hare has to deal with weather and another airport in the same city that has half again the air traffic added to the city.I've often wondered that.
