Medical facilities can be assembly line instead of true personal care. Very frustrating! You can try looking through Yelp reviews. Still not 100% because reviews can be faked. And people’s opinions might not be the same as yours would be. My head would hurt too!

That just makes me all kinds of optimistic..:?:

I kinda missed the mark of encouragement there, didn’t I? My apologies! Don’t listen to me. I’m still in cranky old broad mode.

When I was searching for an eye specialist for a surgery I need (still didn’t have it), I used this site along with Yelp.

Healthgrades | Find a Doctor - Doctor Reviews - Online Doctor Appointments

I looked for comments to try to eliminate “assembly line” experiences. The doctor I settled on was great and so was his staff. He was honest enough to tell me that because my eye color is light, he didn’t feel he had the experience to do the surgery. He referred me to another specialist. Still, he spent a lot of time with me answering my questions. So in my case, the reviews did help. You can tell who is just ranting and who is giving a real review based on their experience.

Also, Consumer Reports has a limited section for doctors:

Hubs went to his Chiro this morning and I tagged along for company. His hips were all out of wack again. Cancer dr called on our way home and told hubs his CT scan of yesterday afternoon was excellent.Huge improvement over the previous test. So no matter what the weather...it's a good day.

Good news on the cancer front. He seemed to respond well to chemo. The hips can be cracked back in place. If he don't watch it he's gonna feel like 30 again.

    Good morning Army!! :)

I am trying to find something for my mother for Mother's Day. I particularly like to find her some plants that are rare, or new and beautiful. This year it will probably be one gorgeous plant, if I can find it. I went to two nurseries yesterday and I cannot believe how much plants cost now. When I was younger I bought a lot of plants, many of them were perennials. I also bought a lot of bulbs. If you buy them once, you shouldn't have to get them again. Well I guess I will do a little more checking today. I better find something that is interesting out there.

Very funny. I told her after she decided not to keep Cassie that I wouldn't get her any other kind of pet. If she wants one, she will have to get it herself. She wanted Cassie and paid for her, I just checked her out and picked her up. I didn't just get her a dog out of the blue...she wanted me to look for one. No, a plant it will be for her present. That is if I can find one I like well enough. I used to buy her a bunch of plants, but that can't happen right now. I am pushing it just buying one plant, or a couple of cheaper ones right now.

Well I got my mom something, but it isn't as good as I had hoped for. I did find a couple of plants that caught my eye, but my mom would not like them. One was a Blue Elf stonecrop in full bloom. The other was a donkey ear, I think a succulent. The donkey ear also blooms. My mom cannot do cactus or succulents of any type. She is great with any other type of plants, but she kills cactus types by giving too much water. She kills them with kindness I guess you'd say. My daughter loves succulents. She gave me one last year on Mother's Day. It has grown a lot and looks great. I was afraid it would freeze last winter, but it didn't. She didn't know the name of it, and neither do I. It is multiplying though, and it is lovely. I like all types of plants and herbs too. I guess I inherited my green thumb.
