Around here, they have commercial kitchens set up for small businesses to rent space and cook their goodies with the professional equipment. If you decide that you want to give your dough a go, maybe they have something like that in your area. :thumb:

Hey, that’s something worth looking into! The big hurdle is the cost to buy equipment and rent space. Vegas is a big foodie town now, so it’s possible there’s a similar thing here. Thanks!

LA, is it possible to work part time in the food industry? That way you could get your feet wet so to speak, without diving right in. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. It may be fun to play with on your time, but quite another to have a full time job of it.

Regardless, I am happy to see you enjoying yourself. I wish I did live closer. I would volunteer as a taste tester for you, in that case for sure!

It’s true - the work is hard and so are the hours. Prepping would have to begin in the wee hours. There are also hazards from working around flour all the time from the dust. As with any job, it’d be love/hate. Still it’s nice to have some skills and possible job directions to go should the need arise.

Oh, we’d have some fun times! I’ve had a few fails along the way. You’d regret volunteering sometimes! :D

New Orleans has the best water filtration system in the world ;) considering our source, and it passes the tests....

basically our water comes from the nations septic tank... we get what the rest of the nation dumps into the rivers...

And that ain’t right! :grr:

Im getting OLD.... the 3-4 hrs I spent yesterday trying to remove the "good" windshield left me in terrible condition this morning.... shoulders are sore and stiff.. even my ribs hurt from pulling on the cutting wire in all those oddball positions.
should have rented the tool instead ( but no one has it for rent and the tool costs more than having it done professionally o_O )

the "theory" on how the wire cutting works is you feed a wire from the inside of the car to the outside between the windshield frame and the windshield, you then wrap the wire around the perimeter ( and under the lip) of the windshield on the outside and secure the end of the wire to a windshield wiper arm mount. Once that is done you begin to pull the wire on the inside in the opposite direction of how you wrapped the wire on the outside. ( same way the little strip on an unopened pack of ciggies works to remove the celophane wrapper) This basically cuts thru the adhesive letting the windshield become unattached. If there are no pins or clips, this goes rather quickly...... otherwise, it takes forever.

Looks like Im gonna have to spend the 400$ to get it replaced anyway...

and heres the weird thing about braketags... I got a tag last month for my van and it has even more and longer cracks in the windshield and the car didnt pass with smaller and 2 less cracks.... o_O:?:

another old thing.... why does the skin become so easy to be damaged??? just got finished changing the oil in the cars and while I was removing the oil filter I slipped my grip and rammed my finger into the oil pan and ripped open the top of my left index finger... pretty much from the base of the fingernail to the first joint... ouch!! All the other times I missed like that would have resulted in either a scratch or blood blister... but nooooo... this required a serious bandaid ;)

ohhhh and BTW it really hurt too :)

You are so right! Anything is possible. I can tell you that these days I enjoy dough a lot more than I do technology. :)

I’m open to possibilities. In the meantime I’ll work on honing my craft and enjoying eating the goodies that result.

I just wish y’all lived closer so I could share. ;)

I get mail delivery at my house :)

I have hit the stage of getting those awful RED RED RED blotches every time I bump into anything.
(which...I am really good at doing)

My ins co sent out a windshield dude to fix the cracked windshield on my truck a few years ago. I watched him and decided I would never want to replace my own windshield. He had every specialty tool you could ever want that makes the job possible. Plus he's done 712 billion windshields so he could do it in no time flat. Best left for the pros. Yes, Sir!!

ahhhh the secret phrase.... your insurance company sent....

unfortunately, my insurance company doesnt send... :)
I called my agent and they did the rest. Took 60 seconds on the phone. Guy showed up and was done in about an hour. No bill, nothing. Rates did not go up either. It's against the law in this state to drive with a busted windshield so I think the ins cos are supposed to replace windshields easily, quickly, and at no charge. Could be wrong about that.

When this happened randomly in April of last year, we had it replaced by pros. No help from insurance. The pros found one that would fit and had the right tinting. Two guys worked on it for about 15 minutes and it was done!

Vacuum seal. Mark Perishable. Send Overnight delivery.

You don't need BK for the basic stuff ....

Okay. Good plan. We’d have to do a test run to see if it’s still steaming hot when it’s opened.

I’m still thinking I need a portal. A little tear in the time/space continuum. But I’m a dorky geek.
