I hate hurricanes for obvious reasons . Major PITA no matter the category . The power goes out too easy here as well , piece of crap grid system they use now is the reason .

That recent haboob here just missed being a Cat 1 level for wind speed at least. Power flickered but held for us. Can’t have all those lights on the strip going out, or have the gaming interrupted so I guess they put in a decent grid. I’m 13 miles away and it held here too.

Had a Cat 3 to low end Cat 4 hit in PA some years back. At my remote location there, power failed if someone sneezed too hard. So it was out pretty quickly.

But not even close to what you all faced there. SMH.

Green lite for chemo tomorrow?

So far. It really doesn't get decided until after my blood draw when I get there.

Wonderful! I was going to ask you today how things are going with the family staying with you. Any updates on their plans? And how are you feeling?

Been having a couple of issues. Seems as though this new chemo can cause intestinal cramping.

Family...gotta love 'em. :p

@Desert Dweller the Steam Beta is already on Manjaro , not sure about Mint but it can be done manually on Mint if necessary . I'm gonna check on PoE and WoW on Steam . If they run well , cancelling my MS account and deleting Windoze 10 will be dam near orgasmic after the way MS treated me last go round . Hope I get the same hag in tech support too .

I see that C O R T A N A is never truly "off". Now the off button is gone. I saw that it was communicating before that last update. I have no idea what they are going to do with all that info.

    It never ends.

Bronze we could use a little rain and cooler weather. It is dry as a bone here, and the temps are in the mid to high 90's. We also have some more hundred degree weather in the near future. Well, that might've changed since the last time I looked. We are in our cool spell. Tonight the low should be 72, that feels like autumn. It has been in the high 70's to low 80's for our low.

    Keep us posted.
The cancer has had a small growth. Dr. said he would have missed it if he hadn't known what to look for. Another scan and dr appointment next month to most likely to be followed by more chemo.

Ugh! I was hoping for better news. Praying that it doesn't grow.

It's not just that for me . They'll see that I play two games and that's it . That's all the info they can get on me . Linux just plain out performs Windoze 10 in every way . It boots and shuts down much faster . It opens apps faster , browsers are the same as Windoze but they're faster and far less glitchy on linux . I have six programs that I run to maintain Windoze 10 in working condition . Linux , zero programs required and it doesn't slow down like Windoze does . I have literally thousands of choices at my fingertips in regard to themes , icons , fonts and what not . If I dislike a single icon for a specific app out of a set of icons I can and have changed one icon with a coupla clicks of the mouse to whatever I want . I have complete and total control and flexibility in how my system looks in Manjaro KDE . For Windoze being the "Professionally programmed OS " it comes in last place as far as the level of polish given to how it looks and functions , it looks like an amateur production by comparison . It's a piece of crap in plain english .

FranC, that is tough news. I was hoping to hear better news as well. Never give up hope. I have seen a couple of cases that were full blown miracles, so you never know.

Retic, you sound like you have a handle on Linux. You are right about what you said. The updates alone on Win10 stink. You never know when it will go badly, but it can go downhill on you in a heartbeat. Their search for your computer files stinks, and takes forever. I got a new program called Everything, and it also works for Linux. So far I have been amazed at how fast the thing works. It beats the Windows search so bad that it is downright pitiful. It blew it right out of the water, and that is no joke.

Not much going on here. I have been doing the small dog's hair in increments. I did spend a lot of time with the clippers on her yesterday, but didn't get much of her face done. It has been too hot to do it outside, so I've been doing all of it in the house. I don't get much light through the window, so it doesn't look like my best work for sure. I went ahead and cut it very short. Any day I could get a call from my daughter. So I want to have the hair cut already done.

Some strange male orange cat has been hanging out at my place. He thinks he has found a new home, it is sad really. I cannot take another pet, and that is all there is too it. He may belong to my neighbor, I don't know. You can tell he used to be an inside cat, or is used to people. I think he started spraying, and they kicked him outside. The cat is persistent, but I'm not feeding him. If I do it will be all over with. Now my big dog is quite perturbed at having this invader on my property. It is making life very difficult for the numerous potty breaks a day for her. The cat is wary of the big dog, but isn't too scared of the little dog. He wants to rub up on my leg, but I won't let him. I am hoping he will move on to greener pastures somewhere else. He even sleeps here at night in my yard, or under my vehicle. He is thin, but not starving. I know this is no wild cat, not by a long shot.
