Thanks for the info. I did not realize that the Pro was the only one that could accept the Apple keyboard. That's a must for me, as I simply cannot abide a touchscreen keyboard. I'm too old and set in my ways, and I need that tactile feedback.

I agree. I despise typing on glass. I spend half the time correcting typos or auto-correct’s idea of what I really meant to type.

If you already have an Apple Magic Keyboard (Oct 2015 or later) you can simply connect it via Bluetooth. Apple sells them for $99. These would be the most familiar feel for typing, but they aren’t very portable.

Then there are iPad Pro keyboard models. Some work as both a cover and a keyboard. Apple’s is $160. There are other company’s versions too. Here’s an overview:

Kit out your iPad Pro with these excellent keyboards

Good morning!

@Pappy i love my hand me down iPad. I use it around the house and when traveling. It’s old and doesn’t have all the new options but it’s very handy for watching movies, reading books, playing games etc...

Just checked, it’s the Air2 with 64 GB.

Nice! My friend had one of those. It’s a lot lighter than my older one, an iPad 4 (I think).

I think the ipad 10 is coming out any day if not already.

I saw that too. Supposed to be this month or next. That’s good because:

1) You can get latest & greatest if you can afford it.
2) If you prefer to spend less, an older model might be cheaper.

I don’t remember which child upgraded and passed it on to me, my dad likes to buy them apple stuff for the holidays so I get some nice hand me downs. It doesn’t connect with a phone line which is fine. That’s what the phone is for :)

How's your venture in to Linux going ?

So far hitch free, I can connect to the net, print wirelessly, scan douments and Libre Office opens my wordperfect documents and keeps the formatting. No Window 10 updates to worry me.

I got 1809 installed without messing things up by downloading a tool from MS that fixes Winbloze update itself . Winbloze update wasn't updating itself before updating the system causing all kinds of grief . Those Aholes at MS knew this and did nothing about it . To advertise the solution was admitting there was a problem which they won't do until they get a million or so complaints being received .
