I’m officially getting bored. I’m just supposed to sit around. So I am. But gosh that’s a boring thing to do.

I’m going to have to see if anyone wants to visit me. Some conversations would be helpful.

And this is fun, they injected me with a geeen blue dye so they could find the lymph nodes. I forgot about that, and noticed my pee was blue. Kinda freaked me out for a bit.. then I remembered the dye.

Have you considered moving to a desert like Phoenix or something? They get like 5” of rain a year.

I made myself hungry for leek and potato soup! So funny that you said it too. I was watching a cooking show where someone made vichyssoise and they were oohing and aching over this hoity toity French soup. I said, “Bah! That’s just potato leek soup and I’ve been making it for years!”

She was welcome here as long as she wanted to stay. Our guardianship ran out on her birthday last spring. She's 18 year olds tho, never wrong and zero admittance/apologies for even simple mistakes. You just can't undo the insecurities from poor parenting she received before us I guess.

On a brighter note, Kade has a great (and smokin' hot) girl that is showing mutual interest.. She agreed to go on a date with him tonight but her parents had other plans for her.

I’m very happy for Kade.

As for the poor parenting she received, she will have some healing to do. But I also know from experience that even with loving, conscientious parenting, young people can behave exactly as you’ve described. It seems to be a terrible trend in our culture of complete resistance to taking responsibility. Or being humble. Or showing gratitude. Or respect and concern for the dignity of others.

Could be it’s a choice we all make. And no amount of outstanding parenting can overcome the free will choice of the child in that case.

The parenting I received was atrocious. Thankfully, I chose to be different than all that.

You are so right, and it's sad. I kept my sister's 16 year old daughter for a week back in Jan. She never uttered a thank you the entire week she was here. I cooked, did her laundry, etc.

Just today I cooked lunch for the boys, nothing fancy, and got a thank you from them both.

Drone video shows devastating storm damage in Houston County

I will be surprised if this wasn't a Cat3 tornado. You can see massive damage to the trees towards the end of the video from the drone. The area was huge. The green tree area is dark green. Once you get to the lighter green, that is where the damage occurred. Somewhere around 40k were without power, and many still are. Then there is a clip where they discuss the damage a little, and show how some people are getting help. Many are now homeless. Very sad to say the least.

Afternoon... Looks like the rain may be done mostly till later in the week. Went to Lowe's to get a quart of oil and an air filter for the mower. Yes I could have got them cheaper. But it's not like I need it every year.


Guinness Blonde is for me a little bland and a little flat. But this could be due to what I'm use to drinking. The flavor wasn't bad though and not much after taste. Could I get use to it for an everyday brew? Well that would depend on if it gave me a headache or not after a few on them. It was good enough I'd likely give a six pack a try to find out..

That's a lot like Bechamel sauce is just white biscuit gravy... just add sausage and southern women make it quite frequently.. lol.

All the fancy stuff just sounds fancy, but is usually just basics..
