well lets see... I dont accelerate hard, I keep enuf distance behind vehicles on the hiway to be able to just let off the gas to keep from running into things ( rarely use the brakes ) I take corners wide and easy...
plus I buy the 90K mile tires... what I do like tho is that my brakes ( fronts) lasted 110K miles ( just had to change them a couple of weeks ago at 255K miles, time before was at 142K miles) and the only reason I changed them was because one of the pads slipped upwards a tad and wore out faster than normal... the 3 other pads still had 40-50% left on them, had that pad not slipped, I would have probably gotten 180K miles out of them before the squealy tabs would have kicked in... and finally, 90% of my mileage is all hiway miles ...
What kinda tires?

That's awesome! Looks pristine. I loved your story too. Two of my uncles were model train enthusiasts and would put up their trains every year at Christmas. Hundreds of little models making up entire villages! It was so exciting to visit at the holidays. They'd get the trains running and all of the cousins would just sit and watch them go round and round. Good memories!

Houston was flooding this evening. Some places sw of there got 10-12 inches of rain. Wed-Thurs we will have severe weather again too. We are supposed to get rain until Sunday. Tornadoes all over the place went on today. Wichita, Kansas got 16" of hail. This is just insane.

Is that on your van? Or one of your passenger cars?

I don’t think I’d be able to get 90k tires for my Sequoia for that price.

Now watch out for those teeny tiny hex thingies! ;)

on my Smart car... the weird thing about the Smart car is that the back tires are larger than the front tires... so I went with the largest back tires available that just barely fit the fender well... doing that increased the gas mileage by almost 6 MPG ( larger dia tire = lower RPMs = better MPG)

ohhh ... I saw a good one today... they sure dont make cars like they used to... it was some type of small Nissan (blue) it had a blow out on the front left tire, it took out the wheel well liner AND the whole front left fender along with a portion of the front left "bumper" .... its amazing what a chunk of rubber flipping around at 70 MPH can do to plastic... a simple blow out pretty much destroyed the whole front quarter panel of the car... probably caused about 2K$ of damage..

If you want some excitement in your life, try having a blowout on a motorcycle's front tire at about 70mph. Things get interesting very quickly.

Or an inaccurate odometer.
