yupperz... that was one of my concerns... the general political view points, being from the south, I love my guns, people should have a choices, and taxes just for the sake of making money for over bloated budgets, not my idea of a properly run government.
And plus, I was considering staying in the logistics line of work... did some research on courier services up there and there really doesnt seem to be any "well established" companies... a bunch of Mom N Pop owners looking for "help"... o_O the only thing I could think of that would be stable and well paying is doing courier work for Boeing... or medical specific work... neither of which showed up during my searching...
and as far as going back into the Tech world... nawwww Ive gotten too old to do that again, dont have the stamina or desire.. if I could handle standing on my feet for 8+ hrs at a time, I would consider machine shop work, was pretty decent at CNC machines, altho I would definately need a refresher course... probably a whole lot has changed since I was coding machines. I would have to be the one who is gonna say Yall first ;) ...
The days of M and G codes are pretty much gone from CNC programming. It's all shop floor style programming. Fill in the blanks and check the boxes using pictures. User friendly compared to M and G codes. In fact, machinists aren't even needed much anymore. Just need an operator to push buttons.

The State of Oregon requires an Oregon Base Plate to travel in the state. Doesn't matter where you are coming from, or where your equipment is registered, if want to travel on any road surface in Oregon you still have to buy their base plate. And the only thing south of Washington state on I-5 is ... Oregon.
Or you can try the Rockies. In Montana and Idaho. In winter.
Then there is always Powerball. ;)

Other than crazy summer heat, Nevada has been a good place to be. No state income tax, but a fairly high sales tax rate. The state is in the top three (at least) for gun ownership. Schools in Vegas are reportedly awful, but that’s not a concern. Locals despise CA politics, so not liberal leaning. Away from the Strip, you wouldn’t know it’s a tourist town. Cost of living is pretty low. And you’d never need to use your “gills!” :)

I'm doing ok for the most part. Thanks for asking. It's good to see you're having some good days and good times:)
I’ve been thinking of you. I saw your BF pass’s away tragically and my heart just hurts for you.

The good days are about to come screeching to a halt. Chemo is Tuesday then the week after that I go back to work. I switch to weekly chemo on the 9th and it’s supposed to not be as awful, but who knows. So yes... I enjoy the heck out of my good days, they are few and far between.

Dinner done. Ran out and got some Chinese. Nothin like eating out of a carton. Sure was a beautiful day here. Heat and humidity return tomorrow. Back to normal.
The Chinese near me doesn’t use those little boxes and it bums me out every time. I love eating out of those boxes.

Rough weather this evening. Hopefully we won't get it too bad this time. I didn't like the sound of the predictions at all. Very high winds with up to golf ball sized hail, flash flooding, river flood warning. Rinse and repeat.

I talked to both of my kids today. The grandboys have their first tooth visible now. They are trying to talk more, and they are doing some pat a cake. My daughter has got her hands full alright. Once they start walking, it will be tough for a while.

Good Monday morning Army. I am reminded of how much I hate the alarm clock this morning.
My right heel split open this weekend, so today's return to work is most likely a one and done scenario. Dermatologist tomorrow, hopefully get some answers.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

just got home... ummm 5:32 am.. long day. Walked into a gas station mart and there were about 10 people in line getting their coffie, Red Bulls, Monster drinks etc... I plop 2 Shiner Bocks on the counter and this guy behind me makes a snide remark about people drinking wayy too early in the day... I turned around and asked the guy " do you enjoy a beer after work? " he replied "YES!" then I replied "so do I ... I just got finished with a 20 hr session of work". Amazing how people think that life for them is how life for everyone else should be... just because Im in the store at 4:45 am doesnt mean I just woke up...o_O

Good morning Army!

I check in on our neighborhood website a couple/few times a week. Latest story is a robbery overnight. Property owner chased some thief off his property with a firearm. That sparked a furious back and forth about using firearms. Starting to get nasty. Sorry ladies, but it is all women fighting back and forth. Not just a mother hen but a flock of mother hens. And the best I can tell it's the natives vs the transplants. The natives are pro firearm and the transplants are anti-gun. Makes sense. It's southern natives versus New Englanders. Southerners like their guns and the natives don't like the transplants coming down and telling them how to live. The fight goes on. :)

Reminds me of here. The city folks move the country and start complaining about tractors, tobacco wagons and other farm implements, smells and 'untimely' farm noises. To Hell with 'em.

Now we're suppose to get a doberman or rotweiller to fend off thieves instead of a firearm. :)

Firefox wont let me read it in Private Browsing mode.

Sinceyou are Firefox private user, I'll summarize: Chrome is made by Google, Google wants to sell anything and everything you do to others. There are better browsers available, unless you want your internet activity to become a commodity.
